Camera Update

Canon says sand in the lens is not covered by warranty and that repairs will cost $396.58. As the camera was bought for $729 and treated with loving care I'm not happy about the diagnosis or the price. Have indicated to nice man at camera shop that I feel Canon can try harder and he says he will talk to them. Am not optimistic but worth pursuing.

Camera started making labouring noises on Saturday night, doesn't like to extend lense or zoom, changed batteries but bad noise remained. Shop has sent it back to Canon for warranty repairs, was very smoothly and helpfully handled but am bereft!
