Is just making herself felt, the temperature went from 41C to 26C in a couple of hours and the woofer is a pathetic wuss when it comes to crossing roads when they are calf deep in water.
chaosmanor and I have responded to the rain and lightning by dancing about in the rain, buying hammock chairs (mine is pink) and unplugging everything except the wifi.
The view from the back porch is particularly excellent when it is raining on my feet.

I thought it was a tad chilly last night. Am very glad I decided to hang out washing with shoes on.
Also noticed strangely peaceful nature of backyard, open nature of back gate and self-walking nature of Hairy_peril. Gah! Thankfully I have a completely new dog catching tactic, I get in the car with Kenobi, drive down the street, park parallel to Wendy, slide down the window, leer and say "Lolly for a headjob little boy" open the side door invitingly and she jumps straight in. Foolish trusting puppy. I presume they will start work on a tunnel pronto.

Matilda Bay. The water was amazing, glassy smooth, no wind and you could just see the rain clouds coming in. I had the sense of being between two worlds; storm and sunshine. I think this looks a lot like a sheep pratfall but
ascetic_hedony thinks it looks more like a big-headed bird in flight.
Did a comfortable hour of distance paddling using all the available light. Tried out the Finn Kayak and liked it very much, bit more wobbly than the 415s.

Magical.
Drove into the car park with some very appropriate classical music playing to be greeted with flat, silvery water slowly turning to pink and gold as the sun rose. A pod of dolphins were fishing in the bay - they swam all around us and did jumps while we were paddling. Over to the west were small clouds and a rainbow.
I kept expecting to see carebears or smurfs or something on the shore.

...was lovely: there was a forked lightning show and I got pretty, green phosphorescent flashes around my legs and arms while swimming in the dark.

Beach trip with the woofers on account of being damn hot and perfect for swimming, have some new scratches from playing high energy chasing games with the hairy_peril.
The water was perfect. Soft, warm and floaty. There were also some amazing cloud shapes in the sky complementing the beautiful temperature and the way the air felt good to be in.
I saw a man paddling with his lab puppy. The puppy alternated between swimming behind and snoozing on the back of the kayak. Tres cute.

Was amazing; all the white and the grey and the golden light and the huge black clouds coming in from the South. So beautiful.

In a rare event for WA, snow fell to low levels in parts of the Great Southern this morning. Snow is reported every year or two on the Stirling Ranges, which rise to about 1000m north of Albany, but is seldom experienced elsewhere in the state.

I have a HUGE box of books to read.
The beach was lovely in a blue skies and far reaching horizons sort of way.
A nice man in Freo fixed and polished my boots for free.
I have a new mug.
The woofer has a new teddy bear. I wondered if I gave it to him at the shop whether people would scream 'abuse!' but they all think he was adorable and cute. People kept stopping to talk to him - apparently dogs carrying bears are very popular and a great way to meet people.

Looked outside; decided we were staying home today.
ascetic_hedony and I accidentally wore similar pyjamas in the kitchen *gasp* and it was all about the blankets and the hot chocolate.
The woofer then bullied me into going running by jumping about, making funny noises and doing the chin-on-knee-stare thingy. It was so bloody wet I even wore a raincoat, the woofer had his tail at half-mast and kept stopping to try and shake the water off - hah! Fat chance!
It was beautiful, there was pouring rain and the sea boiling through shades of green and grey with white foam. On the run back a chunk of sky cleared, sunshine came through, everything went shiny and the woofer went back to looking smug.

I visited my brothers then came back to Freo, stopped at home long enough to grab the camera and yell at
ascetic_hedony to come then we bolted up to the Monument.
North there were dark grey clouds, rain falling and then gold light where the sun setting showed through a break in the clouds. East it was all cream, gold and blue. The moon was up as well, shining over the last piece of cloud to catch the dying sunlight. South was streaked in cream, pink and blue. West was almost solid black above the lights of the port, it was interrupted by flashes of orange light; above which was brilliant white forked lightning.
As we sat and watched; a twister formed out to sea in the North-West (lj icon). By this time the parking area was choked as more and more people come up to watch. A guy in a flannel shirt with his kid came running up the hill, they flung themselves down on the grass and gave Kenobi a scritch when he welcomed them.
God I love living here.

Shouted a man in a clipped British accent as he jogged past in the pelting rain. He was wearing a knee length raincoat and a pair of bright Union Jack shorts.
It was bucketing down, windy and the ocean was melting into blustery grey. It was absolutely beautiful - perfect, wild and bleak.
I loved my Dalmatian deeply and was broken-hearted when she died but if I had taken her out in weather like this she would have hidden under a bush and cast imploring glances at me to take her home where it was safe, warm and dry. The woofer doesn't even notice, he trots, scampers and gambols along having the time of his soggy little life.
The run went further than I expected but not as far as I would have liked; am pleased that legs gave out before lungs. Got back to the car absolutely soaked and realised clever me brought no towel. Stripped off outer layer and drove home in underwear on the assumption that anyone silly enough to be out in this weather would be firmly admiring the road.
The woofer then proceeded to mug me – getting wet is an excuse to play the towel game!
Is there a collective noun for a group of mandolinists?
Have discovered Connoisseurs Crème Brulee. I’m doomed.

Have been to the beach many many times, have lain about languidly reading, have cleaned, have bought plates, have driven places.
Watched pilot episode of Jeremiah, yups I could watch more.Managed to tune in the TV over the weekend and was greeted by Kylie Minogue in tight gold shorts, I watched for a bit expecting her to lick a pole or something, also failed to fast-forward the adds; may have to take another year off to recover.
My
We celebrated by grabbing Booboo and Trille and heading to the beach where it proceeded to rain on us. We were not daunted and merrily swam about in our clothes appreciating the lightning on one horizon and the sunset on the other. Am confused by the number of people who left the beach when it rained as if getting wet was a completely unexpected thing to have happen at the beach.
