So many beloved people have stopped to say hello. I have texts and emails and messages and mail, I've been given virtual pink cakes and sung to. I am full of lovely food.
Thank you!
I feel very loved :)

Turned out to be good fun - good casting choices!
maharetr and I1 made cupcakes for K's birthday Tea Party and are now sinking gently into a sugar coma.

1wherein she did most of the work and I helped a bit because I still can't look down :p

1wherein she did most of the work and I helped a bit because I still can't look down :p
- Launched AO3 Open Beta and helped coordinate some bug fixes
- Fixed the shade sail that wore through it's mooring
- Did a 3 hour exam and finished my first MBA unit (1/12th of an MBA done!)
- Delivered birthday presents to brother J.
- Avenue Q - saw with no prior knowledge at all and loved it
- Monthly slash gathering - have now seen pilot for White Collar and fully understand the enthusiasm
- Holiday in one week!
- Project managed
maharetr within an inch of her life - Up to date on Better off Ted (my crush on Veronica is epic) and Leverage; seriously love both shows
- Washed the woofer, have run out of dog soap and used up last of dog polish but still have flea shampoo – not as cool
- Investigated toadstool macro-photography
- Hosted
lemmings's birthday party which boasted many baked goods, musicals and singing. We revisited Dr. Horrible, random song/dance vids, Buffy, and Scrubs, and Bride & Prejudice then took a tour through some highlights of Bollywood. Sharukhan for the win! - AD&T meeting bright and early, combined being hyper with being underslept and settled on a very quiet afternoon to compensate

My birthday present from
nerdus_maximus2, a string of tiny paper cranes - one for each year :) I have it hanging between my monitors at work.

This last week was brilliant, I caught up with friends and family (including my gorgeous but rarely seen cousin) and got cuddles from all of them. This has been a great birthday – thank you to everyone for making it fun and making me feel loved.
- emergency gardening with middle brother (no one fell out of any trees)
- birthday party with friends and balloons and balloons and dessert (and balloons!)
- breakfast with pop who is finally back from Sydney, he has cool stories to tell and love to pass on (and spare 500GB portal HDDs for me - yay! *guiltily backs up data*)
- dinner with baby brother, mama and cousin (we are scarily in synch; me Mama and cousin all thought Cyclamens would make a good present this year - they do!)
- bought new front tyres for Lambert (replaced now completely munted spare with the less crappy one)

Thank you all so much for making my birthday celebration part of slashcon, for the excellent company and the eleventyone delightful conversations and thank you to
angstslashhope for turning up and being all interesting, cute and clever. Apologies again to
chaosmanor for the impromptu Little Red Riding Hood re-enactment, I had no idea we were so loud. I saw some new vids, heard some wonderful stories read out loud, learned some more about vidding, a lot more about podcasting and had some very dubious crocodile porn written for me. Yay!
Thank you also to
missyjack and
riverbella for the virtual gifts! I have been blessed both in love and material gifts this birthday *clutches book from
maharetr, shiny new second monitor, new pjs and copy of Bladerunner*.
callistra baked me cake too!
Oh and there will be Boondock Saints and Sahara this Saturday at the House of B&D by the way.

Many, many thanks to the wonderful, organised, supportive people who helped with the house moving on Saturday – could not have survived without you – the flu has knocked me flat.
Have joined the local library and pounced their internet – should have ours on for Thursday [hopes].
The woofer is bouncing off the walls so we took our first walk this morning. Found three lemon trees (stole one lemon), a Weeping Mulberry, a White Mulberry (clearly I need to plan the Black Mulberry), a very cute park with all native trees and worked out today is bin day.
Housewarming and Birthday parties still on for Saturday 30th, all welcome.
People have asked about housewarming gifts and the answer is we don’t actually know what we have/need yet. I would like to plant passionfruit and kiwifruit vines, we probably need more soft cushions and throw rugs/warm things and we always need more books.

House is very warm and occupants feeling well loved. Much, much appreciation to persons who supplied icecream, blew up balloons, lied to Juffie when necessary and were generally adorable, witty and cuddly all of the time. Am very pleased at the number of people we can fit on the couches and on the porch - there will be further opportunities to do this.
juffles's cries of 'I'll kill you all' were indeed code for 'Wow, this is great.'

Me and my siblings versus our father is gently escalating. Now that he is in Brisbane; and can't just peer at us when we remind him and ask us how old we are; he is reduced to stuffing up our birthday cards.
At least I choose to assume it's deliberate.
This year mine read 'Merry Christmas' and on the baby brother's card his name was misspelled.
I just posted a card that says 'Congratulations it's a GIRL!'
One of the women at work knows a family that recycle the cards; you put in a new note and keep them circulating. I'm attracted to this idea - in a way you are recycling the love.
Bloody Librans…

Beach via bakery, early morning bakeries are things of great joy. Fresh warm cinnamon brioche, chocolate croissants and danishes, birthday breakfast for T1 who needs love and pastries - don't we all?
Got into a discussion about the groin/beach thingy with an old guy whose been walking his labrador at South beach for over 10 years. The erosion is getting pretty bad now and the council has had to grade the cliff face to stop it collapsing on some poor dog walker
Saw a dolphin cruising up the beach in the shallows. Dip, breath, swoooosh.
New furniture arrived! Now have dining sized table and chest of drawers - shall fondle them when no-one is looking - and even better: can now crack the 4000 piece jigsaw puzzle.
T2's birthday poetry night much fun - hadn't considered implications of high density of musicians - some of the scarier poems were promptly set to music and performed. Wish I had been able to record some of the semi-serious singing - will also never forget David's gregorian chant.
Sunday
Sick. Coughing and sneezing and yucky yucky feelings. Wahhhhh. Jigsaw my only consolation. Watched The City of Lost Children - seems TV copes very well with dark green movies. Such a beautiful film, all dark and mysterious and twisted. Turns out can just fit all three flatmates and woofer on couch... perfect.
Monday
Sick. Nice doctor gave me a 4 day medical certificate - don't need 4 days but high comfort factor. Also prodded me *ouch* and informed me I have 'tennis elbow'. Me, shameless avoider of balls games. Well, games that involve humans *sigh* Amused self by sleeping, reading, sorting puzzle pieces and watching woofer battle teddybear - apparently best position for battle is lying on back, holding bear in front paws and biting dangly bits.

Finished Heroes and Villains by Angela Carter, thank you
Read The Thief of Always by Clive Barker - loved it, especially the illustrations, one of those dark dark kids fairy stories with a core.
Starting Tolkien and C. S. Lewis: The Story of a Friendship by Colin Duriez, only 25 pages in but looking promising. Also re-reading Consider Phlebas by Iain Banks, have acquired sequel.
Dipped into Firefly slash, still forming a reaction.
