I've been tired, sore, shitty and disinclined to post but am over it. Shall backdate in my usual fashion so fear not the spam.

Bought the camera of my dreams yesterday - am planning on having a very good time playing with all the settings.

No... Post them all for today so that my friendslist is easier to navigate.

Because I'm not selfish.

All existance is about me...

No, you seem to have missed the point. Wednesday is the day that I work (at least, alternate Wednesdays on months with the letter r).

Why do people always assume the worst of me
*melodramatic sigh*
That was a rhetorical question...

Hehe.

Already have sample photos of work potted plants.

You could give him copies of your feet photos.

Or if all else fails, sell them to a fetish site.
Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 08:32 am (UTC)
Oh! You have a beautiful eye for photographs! Your mystery flowers are Cannas (http://images.google.com.au/images?q=cannas&hl=en&hs=jv5&lr=&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=N&tab=wi). We have them in our backyard and they're utterly beautiful in bloom, but it took your images to remind me just how much.

Thank you! I was wondering how I ws going to google a photo. It's a bit of a magpie collection right now - I'm keen on flowers and tress you may have noticed.

I love the shots of the Kings Park lemon-scented gums. I've been planting them at home and just walked up there (from my accouting job in West Perth) the other day to check how old they are. They're 67, for the record!

My digital camera is just a cheapy, but I still couldn't live without it.
Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 08:12 pm (UTC)
Gah.

You have been within lunch-pouncing distance and I didn't know? if you feel like company don't hesitate to email me at work on myname dot mylastname at dtf dot wa dot gov dot au

I love those gums - they are just beautiful. Driving to Pemberton through the forest with the sun on the trunks.. magic.

Heh, this is quite an indulgence but I think given my level of interest it will be worth it. The availability of an underwater casing was the final straw. I HAD to spend the money.

My office just moved here from Welshpool (inconveniently for me!). I'm usually in on Mondays and Wednesdays and generally do long days then to avoid also having to drive all this way on Fridays!

This week is my busiest one (accounting month end), but it'd be great to meet for lunch next week or the one after? The 10th or 17th would probably suit me?
Sunday, July 31st, 2005 11:20 pm (UTC)
So that's a date for the 10th then?

Lunch in Kings Park and tree admiring?
Monday, August 1st, 2005 01:23 am (UTC)
That sounds great and I've put it in my diary. I just learned this afternoon that I might have to work the Tuesday (9th) instead of the 10th next week. Will let you know as soon as I can and if we aren't free the same day, maybe the week after?

Works for moi
Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 10:50 pm (UTC)
Awesome! :D

Max zoom level is pretty bloody impressive...the tree shot looks cool...south beach carpark shot is excellent with the contrasting light levels and 'awwwww' at the boxer puppy. :)
Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 10:56 pm (UTC)
Thanks! You are teh sweetest.

Zoom.. [flex]

Only bad thing so far is S2-IS requires drivers to talk to Win2k so shall have to install on work computer.
Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 11:22 pm (UTC)
*admires flexed zoom muscle*

Doesn't surprise me, when you consider that Win2k is ~6 years old. From what I've heard, the format of the camera's memory card pretty much determines whether it'll talk to older OSes without supplying drivers.
Tuesday, July 26th, 2005 11:28 pm (UTC)
That surprises me though, a memory card is pretty much file system and available as a mountable disk image with a directory (or many) and some jpegs. Best solution, persuade work to upgrade everyone to Macintosh. (-; They'll even be able to slim down the IT support team too, good cost cutting measure. Your masters will adore you.
Wednesday, July 27th, 2005 12:26 am (UTC)
A memory card IS pretty much a removable drive, but being able to access that interface relies on the OS knowing wtf is plugged into the USB port. Don't forget support for standard USB memory sticks wasn't included in Windows until Win2k, and some of the newer cards/cameras presumably don't conform to that spec.

ps. Macs are for the brave, adventurous or bloody stupid....hmm, you're right - that is a pretty compelling argument for the government to switch.
