4.01 started off with a bang, for about half the episode the pacing felt like being back in S1 and it was great.

- I love space battles - love them.
- I love Tigh, Anders, Tyrol and Tory dancing around what it means to be Cylons and how Adama, Roslin and Lee talk about the Cylon.
- I *love* this scene. Look at all the Cylons standing around the huddled humans! Inner circle/outer circle/layers of deceit.
- I love the Cylon civil war and their grotty war crimes.
- I loved it when Anders told Kara he'd love her anyway and she told him she'd put a bullet in him.
- I love how hard they're trying to confuse us with Kara and Baltar.

I'm pleased at how fresh it feels despite Boomer going through agonies in S1 over it and Baltar desperately wanting to be a Cylon in S3.
My theory is that the final five have attempted to transcend 'programming' and have free will.

I also loved the retaliation to lobotomising the raiders - giving the Centurions free will. I just hope that doesn't come back and bite them.
