4.01 started off with a bang, for about half the episode the pacing felt like being back in S1 and it was great.
  • I love space battles - love them.
  • I love Tigh, Anders, Tyrol and Tory dancing around what it means to be Cylons and how Adama, Roslin and Lee talk about the Cylon.
  • I *love* this scene. Look at all the Cylons standing around the huddled humans! Inner circle/outer circle/layers of deceit.

  • I love the Cylon civil war and their grotty war crimes.
  • I loved it when Anders told Kara he'd love her anyway and she told him she'd put a bullet in him.
  • I love how hard they're trying to confuse us with Kara and Baltar.
I still get the urge to shout 'Get on with it' with depressing regularity, I still want more story and less emo. Oh show, how I love you and how I wish it was less like watching the guy who should be the coolest kid ever tripping over his damn shoes. Again.

I **LOVE** the new Cylons thinking about what it means to be a Cylon. I keep thinking about it too! What if I were a Cylon, but I still identified as human, but I knew I was a Cylon, but I didn't want to be a Cylon, and humans and Cylons were in a race war trying to wipe each other out? Where does my loyalty lie? Does it really matter who I choose to side with if I don't know what else I've got programmed inside my brain yet to manifest?

\o/

I'm pleased at how fresh it feels despite Boomer going through agonies in S1 over it and Baltar desperately wanting to be a Cylon in S3.

My theory is that the final five have attempted to transcend 'programming' and have free will.

Everything you said, especially with the Kara and Baltar sub-plots.

I love the way the Cylons are starting to develop personalities within their models - eg the Eights voting differently.

I also loved the retaliation to lobotomising the raiders - giving the Centurions free will. I just hope that doesn't come back and bite them.

prk.

Of course the Centurions will come back and bite them! It's BSG!
