I have had to admit to having no taste on many occasions; it appears to be getting easier.

The Sookie Stackhouse novels are about wholesome blonde little Sookie the barmaid who has a 'disability.' She is a telepath and not happy about it. Alas! She keeps being called upon to use and develop her abilities - repeated exposure to vampire blood isn't helping her stay normal either.

It's kinda bland with poor characterisation. There's something about the writing that has no bite to it.

It's kinda bland with poor characterisation.

Which is why these books appear on my "Can't bear to finish them" list. If you want more, Mand's has the complete set.

With Sookie out to be as boring and normal as she can be and Bill out to be as boring and normal as he can be, I'm too bored to finish the books. And remember, if you're lucky enough to be able to read one book per fortnight for the rest of your life (much more than my current rate) - you've only got 1300-ish books left (assuming death at 80 and no re-reading of favourites). That's a frightening figure that has me now putting the crap books down and running and hiding from them.

Ah, see I read more like 2-3 books a week including re-readng so I can afford to absorb utter crap. In fact I have the problem of having nothing new to read at hand fairly often.

ALso I intend to live to 95.
