Vast amounts of fic, mostly HP or Sentinel.

Out of my Mind by John Brunner. A $2 bin pick up and thoroughly worth it, short stories written over 1953 and 1967. They are a bit dated, the ones featuring musicians are all about jazz and blues and the time travel story was so dated it was sweet.

Something More by Paul Cornell. I was very keen on his last book but this one I found to be not quite so good. I have unanswered questions and the whole future of the human race, life after death, time travel, Aurigans thingy is making my head spin. I don't think it tied together very well, I think there were too many ideas. If teased out in a different story they could have been worthwhile, but in this case they didn't work very well together.

Roald Vincent works as an official mediating the relationships between Earth and its two colonies while keeping an eye on the Alien Relations section as well. When Starhome, a colony, makes it's bid for independence by attempting a First Contact in an increasing atmosphere of anti-alien sentiments Roald is thrown into the middle of it.

Charming, slightly dated and very readable.

A beautiful girl is discovered naked near a mental hospital, she speaks a language no one understands and she quickly becomes an obsession to one of the psychiatrists there.

The plot seems to be about P.F. the psychiatrist having to question everything he knows to be real as his undeniably intelligent patient slowly reveals herself to be neither insane nor from this time. By today's standards he is most definitely a loony himself and I'm inclined to read this as a descent into madness as the patient is revealed to be ultimately sane and her therapist a man with serious reality problems that culminate in crisis. Or it was written in 1969 and P.F. is supposed to be a normal man driven to the brink by an insane contradiction.

Lots of charming short stories - amazingly sweet Science Fiction.

Martians get word of the first manned trip to Mars and assume they are being invaded. What to do? Well clearly they should teleport the Invader there early and deal with the Terrible Threat. Unfortunately they get his dog Jeff instead who mistakes them for cheese flavoured mice.

The N.A.S.E.E.Z. Zoo is accused of mistreating 'dumb animals' and is nearly exposed for what it really is - an exchange program for aliens on study tours.

Must read more of his books. Telepathist was charming. Am choosing to overlook scientific problems and enjoy vision of the future where the UN is an effective force for peace and telepathists work for the good of mankind.
