  • Saw and enjoyed Sweet! The Musical. I am aware this partly stems from being tone deaf and unable to perceive things that irritate my more musically talented companions. I wonder what not being tone deaf is like sometimes, music is fun, I love music but I have very little ability to detect things like tone, pitch or key which are obviously deeply important to other people. I loved the fight choreography and felt many of the characters were well cast – particularly Sweet, Anya and Xander.
  • Had goodbye coffee with RM before he takes flight and thoroughly demonstrated how good planning goes out the window when you’re in the same general physical vicinity and have mobile telephones.
  • Went to a PhD seminar called ’When Communities Collide: The Convergence of Physical and Electronic Communities’ – it was about how people, systems and processes interact in geographical communities and there is now someone I wish to hunt down and buy coffee as a result = win.
  • Caught up with [personal profile] cupidsbow  and a mojito which are a darn fine combination
  • Leverage S02E09 was fun and I totally picked the reveal and the job which makes me happy
  • Supernatural S05E01 was depressing for me, hopefully not for others
  • Had quite possibly the worst period ever and spent almost the entire weekend huddled against heat sources and taking painkillers.
  • Talked to my Mama a lot which makes me happy *waves to Mama* (she is one of my tact consultants)
  • Listened to some podcast interviews of Buddhist teachers I have respect for; I find it settling and it gave me some perspective on some issues I’ve been fulminating on
  • Read some books (it’s been a while since I had the space to do that but being tucked in bed with cramps helped)
  • Collected some 35 articles on team building and communication in virtual teams which I now need to skim for meaningful information

  • In the spirit of research I have now read Chapter 1 of What to Expect when You’re Expecting (J. gave it to me). Where is my uterine replicator? I would totally trade the flying cars for one.
  • Did 75% of my readings for Org. Behaviour; felt affectionate recognition for a suspiciously large number of concepts. Googled planned team exercise for first seminar, internet sadly lacking in successful solutions
  • Registered for a tour of the Reid Library (whee!)
  • Drooled over mastiff/collie puppy with huge paws
  • Saw a midwife/naturopath and shared even more personal information than usual, have instructions to steal [personal profile] maharetr’s magnesium supplement and RELAX, must also submit a chunk of hair for mineral analysis (but I don’t waaaaaaaant to chop my hair off)
  • Leverage S02E07 – the one we were all waiting for based on the guest character was as funny as I had hoped for
  • Slept for 12 hours, should probably have had a nap shortly after just to make sure
  • Made food for slashgropers and cleaned up some furballs in the corridor (could be mistaken for kittens at first sight) also managed to slice my fingers not once but twice (that pumpkin soup wasn’t 100% vegetarian, sorry!)
  • Lovingly collected and watched a lot of vids – post Vividcon fest – thanks to all who came and made it a great afternoon and evening

  • Bought an iPhone, much fun to be had, so far proving to be exactly what I wanted – not quite the implant of my dreams but slightly closer. 1G/month data plan looks like it will suffice
  • Pilates; instructor sadly informed us the class timetable is changing – exactly in time to allow me to continue to keep going once Uni starts \o/
  • Braces rewired; was a lot less painful than the first time, still feels weird, still waking up with a dry tongue because I can’t quite sleep with my mouth shut
  • Breakfast with Pop, well, yoghurt, he doesn’t stock a lot of food, talked about rendering (external walls) and about having the energy to engage with people who you can maybe teach something to and how to value that
  • Lunch with [personal profile] fred_mouse in which we trialled the sugar cane plantation then spat out a lot of delicious wood fibre and talked about anything and everything – how groups make decisions and how much of it is role based and whether how I feel about rockmelon counts as synesthesia
  • "Where are all the men bloggers?" made me laugh a lot
  • Better off Ted; finished on a high note, loved the last two episodes.
  • Leverage; 2x05 made me cringe a few times but 2x06 was fun
  • MBA orientation day; enjoyed it, feeling good about the course so far.
  • Chai in Subi with [personal profile] cupidsbow and grouchiegrrl, was great to catch up
  • AD&T meeting rounding off a very busy day (in which I may have flailed a bit – sorry again people!)
  • Sunday ended up being some serious sleeping and mooching around in which I refused to do anything but cuddle the woofer and read

  • Had one of those shivering moments of rage at work where for a second, the alternatives seemed to be demonstrating the versatility of the word 'fuck' or bursting into tears. I settled for explaining exactly how I felt to someone who could fix it, turns out I speak in numbered lists when I'm that wound up
  • Been wrestling with work and UWA on the subject of communications technology, UWA have launched a new email interface called MyUWA which has a rather primitive (currently broken) planner function; work won't give me access to Gmail+ Gcalendar because it's a bandwidth hog and anyway UWA have provided a perfectly good alternate service - except of course it's broken. I'm thinking an iPhone may be the best answer to this dilemma
  • Leverage 2x04 was silly and fun
  • Shaved [personal profile] maharetr's head
  • Personal Milestone! Have finished knitting 2 x jumper sleeves and started the front (or back) piece, I have 2 more winters to finish knitting this to replace my favourite jumper - it should finish disintegrating about then
  • I planned to take Saturday off, can't quite recall the sequence of thoughts but by 11am it seemed perfectly logical to go buy paint and start prepping my ceiling. It took 4 coats to subdue the awful Purple Walls of Doom and I've only done half the room (rest of the room over the week in stages methinks)
  • Coraline in 3D - was magnificent and I strongly encourage people to see it

  • MBA paperwork, enrolled in my first class, activated my (sadly underdeveloped) student email address, applied for govt. employee student fee discount
  • Work paperwork, applied for multiple jobs, put through paperwork for pay increment (fear of student fees), applied for firewall exemption for Gmail on account of being a special snowflake
  • Life paperwork, done by [personal profile] mr_booboo for me, have plane tickets!
  • TV: still watching S2 Leverage, how I enjoy you
  • Musicals: watched Dr. Horrible The Commentary The Musical (hee) and Rent (I might have teared up a bit)
  • House of B&D: bought and installed a large magnetic whiteboard so [personal profile] maharetr and I can plan our lives and leave silly notes (and buy attractive magnets)

  • Project managed [personal profile] maharetr within an inch of her life
  • Up to date on Better off Ted (my crush on Veronica is epic) and Leverage; seriously love both shows
  • Washed the woofer, have run out of dog soap and used up last of dog polish but still have flea shampoo – not as cool
  • Investigated toadstool macro-photography
  • Hosted [personal profile] lemmings's birthday party which boasted many baked goods, musicals and singing. We revisited Dr. Horrible, random song/dance vids, Buffy, and Scrubs, and Bride & Prejudice then took a tour through some highlights of Bollywood. Sharukhan for the win!
  • AD&T meeting bright and early, combined being hyper with being underslept and settled on a very quiet afternoon to compensate

  • S1 Better off Ted: Utterly adorable. The 20 minute format is working for me and I’m in love with all of the cast members. Portia de Rossi is killing me with Veronica’s delivery and I’m delighted to hear it got a second season.
  •

  • S1 Leverage: turned out to be good fun, I laughed quite often and only squeaked with plot-hole-tech rage intermittently. I love people being insanely competent! Parker (with her psycho glee and lack of social graces) and Spencer (love the soft voice and ability to kill with a hors d'oeuvres) ended up my favourites with Hardison (“If you were a geek, you’d be so turned on right now”) coming in a close second, was also pleasantly surprised by Mark Sheppard playing Stirling (I loved him in Firefly and BSG).
  •

  • S1 Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was quite watch-able despite people suggesting I skip straight to S2. OK I was knitting as well and I’m tickled by having a James Ellison if only because of my love for The Sentinel. This is definitely triggering squeaking with plot-hole-tech rage but I’m frequently distracted by how beautiful Sarah, John and Derek’s eyes are so I’m getting a lot of shallow joy out of this. I’m also dead keen on Summer Glau’s ‘I’m a robot’ body language. Starting S2 now.
