Much cooking was done, there were tarts and muffins and soup and fried stuff. We gave up on the brulee and but did very well in the lime custard tart stakes. Need more lime and thinner pastry but very, very nice.

Me: I better get more food so we can do lunch
AH: Just do dinner, people will have late breakfasts...

Ha!

Evangelion 10-18 were watched and we are still confused but happy.

Thanks to all for a lovely day.

Collected [livejournal.com profile] mynxii from Kenwick before attempting to find Girrawheen which was my downfall as Mr Policeman didn't approve of my lane changing and turning of corners. [sigh] my first traffic offence. Lucky they don't have a chocolate-iser as I was over the limit.

[livejournal.com profile] japester's going away party was lovely, more people should own pool tables, vast MP3 collections, balls made out of dog, interesting friends and make trifle. Spent time with many charming people and really enjoyed it. May never recover from [livejournal.com profile] kae_dash's lapdance demonstrating.

Well I've done it and now I shall hide.

Weekend started with being on the support group for [livejournal.com profile] maharetr getting her hair cut1 and having people over to watch Mr and Mrs Smith starring what my baby brother refers to as "Brad's Pits" then going out to dinner with old friends from high school2 which progressed into Sunday morning before they left which was interrupted by a -tiny- amount of sleep followed by early morning international telephone calling from two of the people I love bestest in the whole world3, then a dash of washing clothes followed by endurance BSG watching, alphabetical book sorting, food buying, picnicking, open chemist hunting for drugs after [livejournal.com profile] cricketk was stung by a bee, quiet and sociable "any more reactions?" waiting and finally staggering home and going to bed.

1Which by the way looked fabulous.
2I now know how to make a tattoo gun when I go to prison.
3Who may eventually move back to my part of the world which fills me with joy.

Crepe style and 'mountain' style Crepe style and 'mountain' style

Much happy pancake eating was achieved, much kudos to [livejournal.com profile] maharetr for the fabulous batter and slaving over hot stove. Thank you to ALL for the massive fruit contributions. Had a lovely day chatting, batting balloons around, eating, napping, talking books and generally enjoying the company of some damn fine people.

Various pics uploaded which may be found if the above picture is clicked on.

So many people helped us move things and were generally (and specifically) wonderful.

Thank you thank you thank you!

We're holding a house-warming on Sunday 23rd and all are invited - there will be croquet on the lawn, cuddling on the couches and treats in the kitchen. Come and admire the union of two Great Houses, the combined couch collection and there is nothing wrong with reading a lot of Georgette Heyer...

Apply within for address.

Am very happy with how things went, would do some things differently, am kinda enthused about the idea of kayaking all of a sudden.

What a weekend! )

Pictures! There are short movies too but they will have to be viewed in person.

Was great! Food interesting and delicious, service great although once again it has been pointed out that my ability to detect people dissing me is underdeveloped.

Company was also of the highest quality. Am blessed with truly fabulous friends, there is much being loved and wanted. I confess I was a little confused by the fondling of napkins and ogling of crockery.

Have been to the beach many many times, have lain about languidly reading, have cleaned, have bought plates, have driven places.

Watched pilot episode of Jeremiah, yups I could watch more.

Managed to tune in the TV over the weekend and was greeted by Kylie Minogue in tight gold shorts, I watched for a bit expecting her to lick a pole or something, also failed to fast-forward the adds; may have to take another year off to recover.

My [livejournal.com profile] ascetic_hedony is back although a bit sick.

We celebrated by grabbing Booboo and Trille and heading to the beach where it proceeded to rain on us. We were not daunted and merrily swam about in our clothes appreciating the lightning on one horizon and the sunset on the other. Am confused by the number of people who left the beach when it rained as if getting wet was a completely unexpected thing to have happen at the beach.

Went to this exhibition last night with [personal profile] mr_booboo, [profile] special_trille[profile] haunted_attics and others. Saw a very interesting crowd composed of people with interesting hair wearing lots of black clothes - the people that is, the hair was wearing black dye, purple dye and shiny!

Ran away shortly into the 'live performance' due to being afeared for the state of my ears. Retired to Sandrino's with [personal profile] mr_booboo to eat sticky date pudding *swoon*.

I had a great night and have even forgiven certain people for the discussion about the donkey - you're still going to get a bill from my therapist though.

Wahhhhhhhhh

I have no problem with dealing with unexpected puddles caused by being stupid enough not to factor in all that running, all that panting, all that drinking and the back door being closed what with the rain and all.

The worried, embarrassed look on the woofer's face disarms me completely and the way he follows me around after and keeps trying to grovel at my feet despite my not being upset at him is kinda heartbreaking. Am all for grovelling between consenting adults, but not taking it well when my baby does it to me.

Alternatively this is a cunning canine plot to get sympathy and bits of toast.

Saw Terry Pratchett's Monstrous Regiment last night performed by Arena, the same people who did Wyrd Sisters, Lords and Ladies and Carpe Jugulem and now that I think about it they do one a year - much like the Pratchett rate of publication, which means so long as the Pratchettiser is functioning there will be much entertainment. Yay!

Was v. silly and quite funny, which was in keeping with the state of my companions who are also v. silly and quite funny.

[livejournal.com profile] cricketk and [livejournal.com profile] mr_booboo provided navigation on the assumption I was going somewhere I wasn't, this was OK because I thought we were going the right way, there was a scary bit when they shrieked and thumped on the windows but it turned out we had found [livejournal.com profile] special_trille who we had lost or at least couldn't find which counts as lost to me, we also found beastpaul where he was supposed to be but [livejournal.com profile] cricketk wouldn't let him in the car until he posed alluringly for her - was very alluring too.

I shall keep them.
