My trip started with me packing a vast amount of stuff including $350 worth of food bought by two girls with bad colds (fear our impulse buying). After some clever car shuffling we collected two hire cars of which I became an offical driver [shiver]. We attached three sea kayaks to the roof of each car and wedged more gear in than I thought possible.

Joel, Me, Zoe, Jules and Marieke all set to go North

We then drove North. A lot. For hours. We talked, slept, played music, took random photos, chatted, knitted and generally passed time. We also got random breath tested on the way into Kalbarri - lucky they can't check blood sugar levels.
The clouds got gradually left further and further behind...

We hauled into Anchorage campsite and set up tents, with all our cunning organising we managed to bring five tents for six people. M. and I formed the 'sick people' tent alliance which resulted in the luxurious sharing of the 2-3 man dome.
Dinner was at Finlay’s Fish BBQ; a classy place with toilet rolls on each table, it was also outside, played Rolf Harris, had a crackling fire and fabulous chilli prawns. Took a shower, should have enjoyed it more; I know now that a shower is a precious luxury to be treasured.
