I shall be away from 23rd to 28th December. Christmas shall be spent in Brisbane with father, step-mother, step-dog and possibly step-siblings.

One brother is coming, the other has requested a breeding pair of cane toads - he has proposed we take photos of them being 'released' in Kings Park and hold the city for ransom. He is a fathead and I cannot buy a hat for him in his size. Damn fatheads.

To my amusement the Invasive Species Counsel describes Kudzu as triffid-like; confirming that along with unicorns and dragons you don't have to be real to utterly inhabit the mental landscape.

I know someone who said "Nadia? Narna? Narnia? What is that?"

My household on watching an ad for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe last night:

Him: Apparently, it's an old story.
Me: Yes.
Him: So you've read them?
Me: *rambles about CS Lewis and Narnia until his eyes glaze*
Me: *returns to reading*

Apparently, there are people out there who didn't spend their childhoods opening wardrobes and trying to get to Narnia. Weird, huh?

I forgave this person based on their being Croatian - what's his excuse?

Speaking of which, I'd quite like to edumacate myself about some popular culture references that I use, but am not actually that familiar with.

Soylent Green is the only thing I can think of from the top of my head, but there are heaps more.

Soylent green is people!

I've never seen the movie - we may need to get it out and have us a bad movie watching moment.

Exactly. And I NEED to be able to quote the entirety of "Open the pod bay door, Hal" and also the scene where Hal's mind goes. For some reason, 2001's been on my mind a lot recently.

But there's heaps. I've seen only about 2 Godzilla movies, I've never seen Mondater from the Black Lagoon, nor Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Attack of the 50-ft woman... so much stuff!

My father used to rave about how *he* had to wait almost 20 YEARS for 2010 to come out. He made me repeatedly watch the scene where the woman walking through the rotating door thingy changes her orientation to the 'up'.

I've seen attack of the 50 Foot Woman. The moral of the story is that bad wives die horribly.

I am very keen on seeing Night of the Day of the Dawn of the Son of the Bride of the Return of the Revenge of the Terror of the Attack of the Evil, Mutant, Hellbound, Flesh-Eating Subhumanoid Zombified Living Dead, Part 3.

I also want to see Attack of the 50 Foot Chihuahua From Outer Space

Oh God please someone save me from the intermegawebnethingy

Oh God please someone save me from the intermegawebnethingy

I have consulted the Magic 8 ball, and the answer is "Probably not".
