…and women were grateful.

*sniggers* Have been informed my problem with gratitude stems from not knowing any real men. Am wondering exactly what women were grateful for as would much rather have been at the top of the food chain in most historical societies. Was amused that [livejournal.com profile] cricketk responded to this by pointing out how hard it was to harvest and mill wild grain vs hunting for food with sharp implements. A woman who a) cares deeply about food and b) is impressively practical.

Saturday was the usually hodgepodge of cleaning, washing, training and orienteering. Found the time for a loooooong call to Oxford to chat to R&R who have devastated certain fond hopes by declaring their intention to remain that far away for longer. Wahhh

Also went to a party where I was given food *loves* and chatted to by a manly surfer type with great arms. Am I shallow? Alas; am prejudiced about men who can't shut up about politics.

Sunday: in aid of the [livejournal.com profile] cricketk moves house initiative there was this whole getting up thingy and then a driving thingy before the eyes focussing thingy which by the way I am not recommending; nor my new Fremantle -> Subiaco speed record. I failed to confirm I was turning up for breakfast but a certain fabulous person gave me bacon cooked by another fabulous person who also offered me mushrooms and eggs so I shared the love around.

We moved furniture and boxes and more furniture and more boxes and [livejournal.com profile] cricketk has officially more crap than I have. People were good hearted and funny and muscular and this was a Good Thing.

Took the dogs to the beach after; was mourning loss of tennis balls when it was revealed that they were all under the passenger seat. Oops. Cuddled my wet, sandy woofer and apologised for being gone all day.

Kind of curious to know what constitutes "great arms"... [0]

Real men - you are obviously under some sort of misconception. There is no real need in society for most of us poor blokeys to aspire to being "real men" because when we need someone to go and point sharp things at defenseless fields of grain we just hire some neanderthal "real man" to do it for us in exchange for beer tokens. It's using one's loaf. Although that kind of presupposes the someone has already hunted and prepared the loaf... I think I explained that rather well actually.

[0] A nice set of old swords would constitute great arms in my book but one supposes you mean hinged appendages.

It's obvious that she meant a greatsword. Preferrably +2, with 2d6 fire damage and haste.

Hmmm, I'd have guessed, knowing her that it would of course be not only incredibly dangerous to the recipient but also to the wielder so more likely to be a flail or morning star. It would probably also have a couple of summon runes. Summon trouble and summon hound from wet place would be my guess.

Unlike you, Maise, I *am* grateful that I know "real" men.

I am grateful that they are silly enough to give me stuff, do things for me, give me money etc simply because I ask them.

Ah.

I would call those people 'suckers'.

Maybe I should have said fabulous biceps and deltoids..

On the subject of arms I'm still deciding what I want but am currently leaning towards something pointy and sharp.

Deltoids - the alien race[1]. Now you[2] have lost the plot[0]. Biceps being a tool[4] for extracting reluctant babies, so he was medical? Is that a specialist in alien sports physiology?

Arms - Well, sounds like an edward scissorhands fetish you have there madam. Thought you were dangerous enough without implements[6]?

[0] Last time I leave you with one.
[1] It's about 10km, involves hurdles and some sort of floating motorbikes and everyone has to wear some serious latex masks.
[2] Shut it!
[4] A bit like 4ceps but with 2 less sharp pointy claws
[6] Is an impedlement a tool that is deliberately designed to not be used?

Holy Avenger +5 - It's shinier, and requires a man of perculiar moral integrity. Do they make them in Greatsword size?

Mindless minions - otherwise known as Guest stars (they don't rate a special)

Actually, my preferred weapon was The Glaive of Pain (9d6) (+0,+30) which strangely enough provided resistance to fear.. the one thing I didn't need.

Only guild where you can smear people against the wall AND toast the jellied remains.

Guilds are for people who can't kill white dragons alone. :)

It was the green ones I had trouble with.

It breathes poison.
You die.

Biohazard suit and tactical battlefield nukes. Easy. Although some ambiguity as to whether vaporised or fused treasure counts as XP.

Oh THAT's where I went wrong, silly me for relying on a magic ring and a hearty constitution.

You could always fall back on the hurler of sheer cunning? A "missile" weapon that strikes (viciously honed cunning) into the hearts of your foes. Might be more messy but less destructuve than my approach and you could claim the dragon's intact hat as treasure!

..little know facts about dragons include great fashion sense and tasteful accessories?
