My woofer got a 'hot spot' on the back of his neck and proceeded to scratch it into a bleeding mess. I made a worried trip to the vet who shaved the back of his neck, gave me some antibiotics, some flea repellent and some cream and now I must stop him from scratching; which is a tiny bit of a challenge.
I've washed everything that moves and vacuumed it if it didn't try to crawl away. I've bribed the woofer to take his antibiotics and smeared stuff on him.
I tried putting socks (colour coordinated) on his back paws to stop the claws from doing so much damage but all it did was make
ascetic_hedony cry and get hiccups. I blame his reaction on having just found the dinner party scene in A Civil Campaign.
Maybe a lot of beach trips are in order.

She also said cereal based dog foods are 'hot' foods and I should move him over to eating more meat, fish and fruit over summer.
