So it turns out I'm now an every-six-months kind of reccing person. Oh well, I read some good stuff - here's the highlights.

The Avengers (2012), X-Men: First Class (2011)
3,039 ave You Met Uncle Charles? by (Erik Lehnsherr/Charles Xavier, Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, Tony Stark/Others)
AU crossover. Tony Stark has known Charles Xavier since Tony was eight and Xavier was his Uncle Charles. Now that Tony’s all grown up, Charles vets his dates. Well, most of them. Except for the ones where Charles brings someone who should really be in jail, not a fancy restaurant.
Slid off the back of this prompt in that it’s Charles who is Tony’s oldest friend, and Tony’s not much of a fan of Erik: By virtue of being Tony's oldest friends, Charles and Erik reserve the right to vet all his significant others. Through terrifying dinner parties. Even they can't find much wrong with Steve, though. And sort of end up asking why he's with Tony.
Thanks to Copperbadge and 51stcenturyfox for beta/Americanpick, and pointing out/fixing the bits that didn’t make sense, and to Copperbadge for providing a title.
Utterly charming

15,573 Turn Around (Three Times Before Lying Down) by (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark, Clint Barton/Phil Coulson)
Everyone knows that Tony Stark is a playboy, billionaire philanthropist, but what they don’t know is that he’s also a werewolf. When a government agency known as SHIELD finds out, they use this information to force Tony’s hand and bring him into a new elite lycan field team, codename The Avengers Initiative.
Suddenly Tony finds himself playing host to a bunch of lycans, a misplaced God of Thunder and an experimental supersoldier that isn’t as dead as everyone assumed. Can his week get any worse?

Marvel Avengers Movies Universe, The Losers (2010)
50,419 If We Never Got This Second Chance by (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark)
When Tony and Steve’s son from the future, Jake Jensen, arrives at Avenger’s Tower, the two of them are forced to confront some hard truths: Tony that he might not actually become a horrible father, and Steve that he might not be able to set aside his discomfort with sharing a child with another man. When they both get a second chance at a first try at fatherhood, it’s up to the two of them to learn from their own future's past.

Cyteen – C.J. Cherryh
4,813 The Cuckoo's Agenda by for cordialcount
There is more than just a scientific breakthrough on the table when the second Ariane Emory meets with a spacer of humble origins.
Clever! I love these books and this is a lovely extension to the universe :)

Discworld – Terry Pratchett
1,983 Going It Alone by for imaginarycircus
Some walked the path to a witch's door with fearful desperation; some walked it with false bravado, and some with foolish daydreams. Esme walked it with a tent, and set it up on the lawn.
I totally want Esme back story, I wants it all the time.

2,988 First and Foremost by for afterism
From Angua’s office, with the door cracked, being a captain wasn’t all that different from being a sergeant.
I love what the author has done here:)

Dogma (1999)
2,880 It's Like That by for sophiahelix
Loki and Bartleby are just trying to earn enough to keep themselves in the air.
...and doing it so well!

1,320 Special Circumstances Questionnaire for Sexual Partners (Male): Long Form by , Does having sex with you entail becoming married, whether legally, magically, physiologically, or some other de facto permanent relationship? Y/N If Yes, please describe our new life together.
So awesome we are printing copies for the household.

Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
12,707 A Marital Education by for kangeiko (Elizabeth Bennett/Fitzwilliam Darcy)
Darcy's impotent.
And Lizzy is awesome.

Prometheus (2012)
22,902 Persephone by (David 8/Elizabeth Shaw)
Elizabeth repairs David - but slowly he begins to realize he is malfunctioning in a way she can't fix.
And he doesn't want her to.
Just lovely. I am not going to be over this any time soon.

Supernatural RPF
33,036 Superheroes Suck, or, The Unfortunately Extraordinary Life of Jensen Ackles by (Jensen Ackles/Jared Padalecki)
Jensen hates superheroes. Having grown up with not one, but two, of them in the family, he's more than aware of just how much having a spandex-clad alter ego can cock up the rest of your life. Luckily, his own powers tend towards the more passive, hippie florist side of things which - while embarrassing - means that all that superhero crap is someone else's problem. Or it would, if not for the frequent interference of superhero-obsessed friends, hostage situations, hotshot new superheroes and irritating relatives. Not to mention a boyfriend who has the uncanny ability to go missing whenever bad things are going down somewhere else in the city. Sometimes, Jensen's life is kind of bullshit.
Adorable

Teen Wolf (TV)
64,511A Wildness Warily Awakened by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
Derek Hale and his Specialized Combat Agents Unit are assigned to B-CON Base, a research facility in the heart of the lone human settlement on planet Cali. Normally, such an isolated place would not warrant the presence of Specs - the Infection is raging across the known galaxy, after all, and zombies don’t kill themselves (unless there are no tastier alternatives at hand) - but Derek is on a private hunt for his sister. He soon discovers that the rest of his team have ties to the place as well.
It’s all just coincidence, of course. (No matter what Stiles bleats on about those.)
Also, zombies.
Beautiful, beautiful scifi fusion.

4,416 Your Mark on my Skin by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
Everyone had a mark scrawled somewhere across their body. A name, usually a signature to represent their soul mate, their one and only true love. Stiles has known who his mark belonged to since the third grade. He doesn't understand how Derek can be so oblivious.

20,144 Where We Ought To Be by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
Stiles Stilinski has just been created a magician, like his mother before him and her father before her, but now he's a little bit at loose ends. So at the suggestion of his mentor Deaton, he takes a position with a very young alpha werewolf, Derek Hale, to protect his pack while he heads into the city in search of a mate. That the stern Derek would be displeased by Stiles's unorthodox methods (wolves training with hunters? unheard of!) is to be expected. That Derek would start looking a little closer to home for his mate is more of a surprise.
Sound of Music inspiration!

4,924 the truth about butts and wolves by for etothepii (Stochastical)   (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
There was no good way to say it: sorry about your surprise sex swap and your nonconsensual werewolf bite also rearranged your butt plumbing and congratulations, I've probably destroyed your sex life forever were not exactly Hallmark sentiments.

26,066 Hide Of A Life War by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
“We have received confirmation that there is a hostage situation in progress at a warehouse compound two hours out of Los Angeles, following a multiple-vehicle pileup on Highway 101 this morning...”
The one in which Stiles has lived to (legal) adulthood and, along the way, become a bit of a badass himself.

15,369 Men of a Certain Age by
The Sheriff and Chris Argent do their best impression of Scott and Stiles except without the flailing (because they're too old to flail anymore).

6,260 can't be hateful, gotta be grateful by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
"Be cool, Dad, we've decided to con Grandma."
(Or, the one where the Stilinski men drag Derek to Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma's and she gets the right wrong idea.)
Too adorable for words

26,861 An Algorithm for Mistakes by for Adihsar (Lydia Martin/Stiles Stilinski, Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski, Lydia Martin/Jackson Whittemore)
Lydia has a plan: attend college, study the biological makeup of werewolves, win prizes, and wear amazing shoes. She does not expect to make friends with Stiles. Or flirt with Stiles. Or accidentally start a pack war with Stiles. Whatever. The point is, Lydia has a plan.
And she's Lydia \o/

8,902 As Though the Air Protects You by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski, Lydia Martin/Jackson Whittemore, Allison Argent/Scott McCall)
In which Deaton is still a mysterious magical vet, Kate Argent is still a criminal socipath, and Stiles is still a crime-solving magical kitten.

12,918 We're All Freaks Here by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski, Allison Argent/Lydia Martin)
There are things that go bump in the night, make no mistake. These are the dudes that bump back.
Nice. The Hellboy fusion.

31,173 Crash Landers by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
In which Stiles learns to Stalk That Stalk. (Or, how to accidentally woo your unfriendly neighborhood alpha in roughly five hundred handwritten steps.)
Relationship development via notes

5,460 Kid Tested, Father Approved by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
The one where Derek is like a box of Kix (or something).
I have no idea what a box of kix is but I assume it's a good thing.

22,321 here is the deepest secret nobody knows by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
“Derek,” Stiles groans. “You have me. You’ve always had me, you absolute moron, how many physically impossible feats of life-saving heroics do I have to perform before you get it?”

25,935 We've Written Volumes (in Blood and Scars and Ink) by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
Stiles is on his back on hard-packed dirt. He's cold and there are leaves stuck to his neck and there's a four inch gash in his side that he thinks he can feel his ribs through. There's so much blood around him he feels like he's floating on a pond and everything is so much dimmer above him than it was a minute ago, which is saying something because he's in the dark center of the forest in the middle of the night. And the worst of it is that he's alone, totally alone with the smell of his own blood drowning him and the soft side of him run through by a tree.
As his eyes slip shut, the last thing he thinks is, "This is going to kill my dad."

3,525 Five Times the Sheriff Found Derek Hale in His Son's Bedroom by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
There's a pattern Sheriff Stilinski just can't ignore.

2,822 The First and the Last, the Beginning and the End by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
Stiles never pictured himself as the big bad wolf.

25,959 Lock All The Doors Behind You by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
He has no idea what you're supposed to say when you find one of your...werewolf acquaintances, completely out of their mind, growling like they're about to see what your insides taste like. There's no handbook for this. Stiles is thinking that if he survives he might write one.
Feral!Derek with a delicate balance between humour and pathos.

27,979 Tried and Tested Series by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
Works: 5
The one where Derek responds to Peter rising by going into heat, Stiles helps him out and things get... complicated. Delightful emotional writing.

7,764 tie your napkin 'round your neck, cherie by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
Stiles has been a teapot for 3,308 days. // Scott skids into the door breathlessly and shouts, “THERE’S A GIRL IN THE CASTLE,” and promptly brains himself on one of the casserole dishes.
Teapot in love with a wheelbarrow, I never knew how much I needed this.

4,707 all you're giving me is friction by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
The Alpha pack is in town and it turns out that Stiles is Alpha-bait, lucky Derek has spent so much time building up his resistance. The best. So funny.

14,548 Buoyancy by (Stiles Stilinski/Danny)
Lovely Danny story.

32,683 Cupboard Love by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
He’s carefully balancing the sandwiches and the two biggest tupperware containers he could find that both had functioning lids when the front door opens and he almost drops everything right there in front of the stupid fountain. If that’s Derek Hale, he’s definitely not a mountain man.
Stiles needs money, Derek needs food... and love.. and someone who doesn't mind his weird, grumpy ways. Food / comfort / family story.

12,738 Break the Lock If It Don't Fit by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
"Do you know what just happened?" Peter asked, frowning. "Do you know what Derek did?"
"He dislocated my shoulder," Stiles snapped, but Peter just arched an eyebrow, unimpressed by that answer.
The one where Derek actually talks to Stiles.

14,609 Show You What All That Howl Is For by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
Teen Wolf/SGA team-fic, with Lydia being awesome. “This is a terrible idea,” Stiles tells the room again. “You’ll all be sorry when Derek pushes me off a cliff.”
I'm just sorry there isn't more of this.

3,801 But I'm Not a Soldier by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
The first time Derek shoves Stiles against a wall, she pepper sprays him in his face.
Neatly exposes a lot of gender related stuff about how we normalise violence and so on - Awesome!Alwaysagirl!Stiles

8,529 Integral to Survival by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
Derek is in the cell for about ten minutes before the lone door opens and a new body is tossed in. The person hits the floor with a grunt, rolls, and stands as the door is clanging shut. “That’s really not the way to treat a guest!”
Bonding through shared suffering - well written

8,904 Do You Wanna Date My Avatar? by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
In hindsight, maybe introducing the local werewolf contingent to the wonderful world of online gaming hadn't exactly been Stiles' best idea.
Hah, it was the Best Idea Ever. I am completely charmed by this.

78,759 (Sacred) In the Ordinary by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
The Pack, after college, graduate school and the starting of careers, comes back to Beacon Hills. Nothing's gotten less complicated after all this time. Based on a kink meme prompt that grew legs and got serious. Note: This is a whole lot of pack!fic with a very slow build Derek/Stiles.
Glorious textured feels, I keep re-reading and getting more out of it.

5,898 be here in the morning just to hear me say by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
Kinkmeme fill. When Scott ditches Stiles for Allison and the rest of the pack goes back to ignoring him as usual, Stiles decides to get a dog. A cat wouldn't get along with the pack, but a puppy would have to, right? ...Or not. Most definitely not. Who knew?
Derek challenges Tiny Dominator... Adorable.

Stiles gently helps Derek work through some issues.

3,000 The Domestication of Canis Lupus by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)
The age old story of a boy and his dog werewolf. They play in the woods, they go for walks.
They don’t talk about it. Ever.
Awww, Derek gets some cuddles

16,730 last night's dress (tiptoe out of this mess) by (Derek Hale/Stiles Stilinski)

Way OOC but so adorable I don't care. Sheriff Stilinsky FTW

X-Men: First Class (2011)
42,186 The Butcher of Lowtown; a Tale from the Early History of Adaptives by (Erik Lehnsherr/Charles Xavier)
Erik Lehnsherr has been on the trail of Herr Doktor Klaus Schmidt his entire adult life. He thinks he has finally found a lead in the person of one Doctor Charles Xavier: man of business and science, airship mogul, and expert on the adaptives who have started to proliferate in the last few dozen years. What he never expected was to find Dr. Xavier is also a philanthropist and a mutant. Together they must confront Erik's past and also face whatever emotional entanglement has started to form between him and the good Doctor.
Richly detailed.

Thoughtful and heartfelt.

For the amount of fic produced in Teen Wolf fandom, I'm having a hard time finding things to read. But several of the stories you recced sound really interesting, so thank you for this rec list!
