I was going to get the Lumix DMC-FT1 - and ordered it twice then eventually (yes, this is my embarrassing personality) gave up and sulked when the orders kept not working out. I miss having a camera on me though so I had another look around and found (to my delight) that the FT1 has been superseded by the Lumix DMC-FT3 which looks less like a small, pretty brick, fit easily into my hand and has (I'll never use it) a GPS. Cnet says the response time has improved as well which was an issue with the FT1.

Plus they come in pretty colours! I was torn over the blue versus red choice but the sales staff won when she pointed out a blue one is probably not going to be as easy to find if I lose it underwater.

(It isn't warm enough here yet for aquatic endeavors! Which, really, WTF, it's June tomorrow and this winter is really getting out of hand.)

The Auto everything setting was surprisingly good and fast.
The manual stuff was responsive.
Getting rained on didn't hurt it a bit and it worked perfectly well in air temps down to -10C, high humid cold places (Wales) and everything else I threw at it.
I've just recently rec'd it to a friend who's doing Archeology at UWA as a good option for a field camera.
