So, tell me your top five apps!

Geodefense. http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/geodefense/id305608325?mt=8

It's a tower-defense game with lots of exciting colours and stuff. Although it's an iPhone game (not an iPad one), it works very well when you double-size it on and iPad cos it's written in graphics-mode.

only five?

*squawks*

umm, so the ones I use a lot:
1. the pdf reader. excitingly labelled "PDFReader", but has website of http://www.yuyao.co.tw (sorry, can't link, short of oomph).

2. "Smudge" - a kind of cute little drawing program. good for keeping kids amused, and better for keeping me amused.

3. "Enjoy Daily" - this is a sudoku thingy. I'll never do one on paper again. (I've not upgraded this one, because the free version you only get one of each type each day. which stops me playing too many games)

4. "Harbour Master" - ridiculously addictive scheduling game. The first map is free. We've bought another, because we believe in supporting the devlopers, and maybe we'll buy more, but the more you have, the more temptation there is to play.

5. "BeeCellsLite" - puzzle game. I haven't got around to upgrading this one to pay for it. not sure what you get for the extra money.

I also like the ABC one, which pretty much links to the ABC news website. And Accordéon, which is fun (but probably not worth the money for anyone who doesn't like making up little tunes, because it isn't a wonderfully exciting musical instrument for anything serious).

The kids like "Bubbles" which is just bubble wrap. I'm getting a lot of use out of iBooks, and the free stuff that they have linked. "Dizzypad" is kind of cute. "Babel Connect" is getting a bit of use - some basic vocab picture/word matching in 5? languages, which is teaching youngest a bit, and it soothing for me when I need pattern matching to stop my brain going in every direction.

Eldest recommends "Small World" (2 player 'board game') and "Labyrinth 2 HD (lite)" which is a rolling a ball around a maze type game that uses the positioning of the ipad to move the ball. Youngest likes Dizzypad.
