  • New mattress has arrived! Mattress shopping apparently involves having a bunch of conversations about products while lying down - I see the value but felt a bit uncomfortable at times.
  • Have been given a vast quantity of gulab jamun - people need to come over and help eat them.
  • Saw Inception, loved it.
  • Read My Stroke of Insight by Jill Bolte Taylor. An account of an aneurysm and subsequent recovery from the perspective of a brain scientist. Fascinating and inspiring insight into how the brain works and what bits are 'us' and what bits are 'the machine.' Glad I read it, bits of the book keep popping up as I integrate it with my world view. She did a TED talk as well.

Haha, I spent a lot of time lying down on two mattresses (not simultaneously), on my back, on my belly, on the sides, and exhausted even the agent's mattress conversation.

She said in the end I had to decide between the two based on how comfy I felt, so I spent as much time as I needed to determine that. :o) (I had my portable radio and mp3 player with me, so that helped.)

I did feel weird in two other stores, because they were on ground level and had street-facing windows and doors and uh. But the third one was just the sales agent and the people trying on mattresses, and those were very few.

Thanks for the link to the TED talk. That was fascinating. I will be ordering this book.
