I had forgotten all about the dude who rear-ended Lambert in North Fremantle when he took off behind me at the lights a lot faster than I was going. He was number #5.

#6 Erm. I backed into a car while reversing into my drive-way. No, seriously.

On the plus side, no injuries excluding the damage to my nerves (and everyone else’s) *waves soothingly at [personal profile] transcendancing and [personal profile] jspencer1986 * … and you thought the con was exciting :p

I did my first ever online accident report - at least I hope I have; Firefox crashed on the final submission - email says it worked. This would have been so useful back in 2004 when George hit that kangaroo and I had to draw one - now you just click on the ‘roo icon. Alas, they don't have an icon for 'traffic calming roundabout' so I made do with a tree.

Accident Diagram

Further, in trying to fill out the form I have now established that my poor abused Lambert has driver and passenger airbags and that the crash test dummy’s left leg survival isn’t looking good. The insurance assessor wanted to ask me about my hail claim - the one I don't have because no hail fell on my car - which I can understand given it's on everyone's mind but I feel for Lambert who now knows how ugly he really is.

I am laughing SO HARD at "I'm not sure how to add a traffic calming roundabout so I've added a tree."

Thank you, I needed a good laugh tonight.

Poor Lambert.

My nerves were surprisingly undamaged. I think that comes from the little voice in the back of my mind saying, "Hey, you were INSIDE a car. You were undamaged. Had you been on your bike...well, we're not going to think about that, okay?"

You handled it very well though :)

I'm...kind of glad you didn't ask about the purple velour :/

I know what it's like to have an accident on the bike. Like Velour Guy, I was relatively unharmed (cuts and scrapes, a concussion, and a circular sprain in my right shoulder) but it easily could have been much worse. In my dazed state, I tried to walk back onto the road and was luckily stopped by some ladies who had come to my aid.

I felt bad for you because it was a shock for both of you, yet she was the only one being unnecessarily rude about it.

(It was one of my almost-attempts at hugging...)

I LIKE YOUR THEORIES.

My mental process on the hug almost exactly mirrored the things you listed here. My final thought on it, was that under stressful conditions, it would only do more harm than good. It's relatively easy to make those decisions when it comes to you, because I really only have to think about how I would react myself. In case you haven't noticed, our anxiety levels tend to rival each other's :P

You were awesome. Hope Lambert will be okay!

Was largely unrattled, mostly through how brilliantly you managed her :)

*meeble!*

*comfort all round!*

And poor Lambert! It's okay Lambert, it's being able to do random IGA trips that's the coolest ability of any car.
