The three woofers, myself and [personal profile] dormant_dragon walked around Lake Monger for a change and it's a beyootiful day. The swans are clearly building up for laying season and the places they are choosing to build nests in are surprisingly close to major walkways, I was about 4 meters away taking this picture. I guess if all the entertainment you're going to get for a few months is hissing and chasing people you might as well save yourself a waddle.

I now think of my life in a completely new light - I just need to figure out how to smuggle my cat onto the campus unobserved and live there instead!

I have not only had to do much hissing at and chasing of people lately, I have had to go out of my way to corner the buggers and do it!

Sounds like it was a fabulous walk... *pine*

*rofl*

Do they give you bread and run away?

I miss you!

They do tend to run away but I don't get any bread *sulk*
Given (due to politics) I am beginning to wonder if I will get my step this year, perhaps I should really stump them and work a bread requirement into the negotiations... *grin*

I miss you heaps too - I have started talking to my lecturer about options for study should I find myself no longer working at the uni. As far as my coursework Masters goes it's a cactus option - but for a research degree *rising hopes*

I SO want to go for a wander around Freo!
and Kings Park...
and down to Margaret River...
and beaching with you Kenobi...

I nearly worked a Perth conference into my job description but they decided to pay for me to attend an International Conference that was occuring locally instead (so I could help to run it no doubt).
I haven't given up though, I am just going to have to practice being nefarious. *solemn nod*

Maybe working in some quacking and hissing... they will get the message. Or do what the Sinister Ducks do where they come up, steal your food and eye you with their beady little eyes.

Research degree would be awfully cool - you'd get to be in touch and do new stuff and generally be fabulously interesting.

I'm heading to the Stirling Ranges for a hiking trip this weekend - I'll try to take some photos.

I could start referring to you as 'that nefarious person'...

could you?!
I am not nearly as tough and hard-headed as I used to be and a reputation change might help when it comes to negotiating pay rises and the like.

Hope you have an amazing hike - it looks like being a cold winter here, hope the weather does good things for your weekend. Photos would be fabulous if you manage to take any, I have several WA images up in my office and get to talk about Perth when anybody asks about them!

I have to study this weekend - first autumn exam is next week and I am SO nervous. If I am not studying I will be having nervous twitches about how 'not studying' I am, so I may as well study I guess *grin*
