  • My chosen day of Swancon was awesome, I followed people I like around and talked to them a lot, or just soaked up their presence according to preferences.
  • I have a mug! It has my name on it, I drank tea from it and then foolishly abandoned it in a frenzy of panel planning - thank you [personal profile] prk ! I shall return for it and keep it safe. [personal profile] maharetr and I are already discussing which of our current fave mugs will be retired to make room.
  • Safe Spaces at cons went well, lots of people actively participating, and after our panel presentation/discussion we reconvened outside in armchairs and kept going until the need for food struck. Callie, Mynxii, Chaos and I are available to discuss and/or workshop situations or responses etc on request and believe me, the request doesn't have to be formal or complicated, (or even at Swancon) this is something we all care about very much.
  • My annual butter chicken and mango lassie was everything I could hope for.
  • Yesterday was the usual mental fog and burning urge to hibernate but I did do some food shopping and reading before realising (and honestly, you'd think after 22 years I'd be better at predicting/noticing) it was period day again.
  • [personal profile] maharetr later offered to go shopping for critical supplies; she cruelly laughed at me when I made if half way across my bed and faceplanted while trying to cast 'Summon Chocolate.'

Man, I'm glad I'm not the only person who manages to be completely, bafflingly oblivious about that >_>;

yeah, I can totally empathize with not wanting to dwell on "oh hey it's misery time again!" (It gets a little insidious when I forget to buy pain killer for, like, three months in a row though! D:)

hope your flatmate summoned the chocolaste for you now that your force is (temporarily!) weak <3

Ahahaha +1!

It completely hits me by surprise every single time. And then I go "Ooooh, that's why I was feeling rubbish yesterday! -_-

The one (and possibly only) good thing about using BC pills as my hormone balancing medicine is that I can now predict, and when occasion calls for it, avert my period.

I'm looking forward to post-menopause.

Having seen both your and Ju's mug, they are deeply awesome. ^_^

Sympathies on the mental fog and burning urge to hibernate, would love to spend some time with you on Monday if you are up for it, but will totally understand if you are not. ^_^

*giggle* Summon Chocolate!!! you are too adorable for words sometimes.

It was wonderful having you on the panel and appreciating your power and experience. Thank you for after-panel discussion too :)

Aww thank you :)

If you want to make a time to talk some more I'd be very happy to.

I'm also really pleased with how the safe spaces panel went - very successful and pretty much exactly what I wanted it to be! Delighted by the lack of anecdotes :) Absolutely reinforcing willingness to workshop stuff or answer questions etc, so important.

*smooshy hugs and chocolate* Hope your body is being gentle on you.

Mugs are awesomeness of awesome!

I was pleased :) and yes, I want to talk further with you about continuing that conversation throughout the year... online?

That's also a really good idea - perhaps something in conjunction with this idea of [livejournal.com profile] alias_sqbr's: http://alias-sqbr.livejournal.com/319949.html?view=3215309#t3215309
