The East end of the Grose Ave Power Station has gone up (multiple explosions and visible flames) as has much of the area bounded by Lake and Guthrie. I was cut off by the smoke and heat on the way back from lunch and took this photo as well as some footage (embedded below). Ouch.

Apparently that was the cause. http://www.watoday.com.au/technology/technology-news/bushfire-cuts-wa-internet-link-20100115-mbz8.html I was just lucky that we are on a priority grid and computer and internet was not affected.

Glad everyone is OK. That really is not something you want so close.

We had been wondering about the trio of power glitches we had out here in Welshpool! We had been speculating a car-pole impact nearby.
