God Stalk, Dark of the Moon, Seeker's Mask, To Ride a Rathorn & Bound in Blood by P. C. Hodgell. The eBook Advance Reader Copy of book five recently became available so I grabbed it and had me a series re-read then a read read. This series still fills me with love; the world building is complex and gorgeous. Jame survived the first cull at Tentir, now all she has to do is deal with the souls of the dead trapped at Gothregor, enact Winter's rites in her role as *cough* Favoured Son, investigate the death of her evil uncle, and deal with the dreamwalker Timmon who keeps flirting with her. Oh and survive the annual cadet Winter War.
Jorin's ears pricked. He jumped down and trotted toward the bushes hard against the Caineron compound just as a figure clad in billowing white burst out through them.
"Surprise . . . umph!"
"Yow!"
Lyra Lack-wit sprawled at Jame's feet, having tripped over Jorin and, again, trodden on his toes.
"Between us," said Jame, "we'll cripple that cat yet."

I read God Stalk earlier this year, in the Baen bind-up, but couldn't quite get in to Dark of the Moon. Maybe I should try again...

It's an each to their own thing, the world building really got me for this series. I love the way the line between living and dead, animate and inanimate is so thoroughly blurred - and Jame does it for me as a character.
