After trying to bash my poor toes to death on the inside of my old pair it was clearly time to trade up and since Paddy Pallin is currently doing a 20% off thing if you bring in your old boots deal I went and traded in the evil ones. Don't take [livejournal.com profile] mynxii by the way, I also got a buff with a dolphin pattern1 and nearly got bullied into buying a spork and one of those tiny bags that compress to the size of a mouse.

These are the Keen Men's Targhee II Mid Hiking Boots EU 41, US 8.5, UK  7.5, CM 26.5 and come with 'aggressive multi-directional lugs,' 'waterproof and breathable eVENT® lining,' 'a dual-density compression molded EVA midsole,' 'ESS shank,' and last but not least a 'toe bumper.' *sniggers*

1[livejournal.com profile] kae_dash only thinks you look like a nun because you get the plain ones you know, he'd feel far less guilty if it had pretty colours :p

I've done my last few Rogaines in Keen's - not funky hiking boots like those, just sturdy shoe things - and they've been really superb. Nada in the way of blisters, plenty in the way of protection when kicking stray stumps. Which, based on the pic of your toes the other day, you'll need!

xx

ps. you'll also never get FaDs (Funky acronym Deficiency syndrome) with these shoes by the look of it

Speaking of which, time to look up Rogaining Victoria (possibly VRA).

That's good to know - you have good taste in toys :)

Hmm.. Targhee is a breed of sheep. I wonder if these boots use their wool somehow? It's sproingy. :)

I suspect the boots of being a positive orgy of polytetrafluoroethylenes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gore-Tex) and other such synthetics.

Heeee!!!! I is enabler :P (or a catalyst!)

Also - I love my spork :)

As for my buff... I do want a patterned one, I want a kind of rainbow-y one like [livejournal.com profile] e_dan's, less earthy toned, but not too bright (no, I'm not picky why do you ask?)

*loves*

Enabler is my guess!
