I've been contemplating the phrase 'I win at grown-up' and how we use it, how we talk about growing up like it's a bad thing and how being Peter Pan is so attractive.
It seems to me that 'grown-up' is being used to cover all the crap things you have to do (like washing dishes, cleaning the bathroom, laundry and paying bills) and doesn't celebrate all the things that being grown up make possible (like buying lots of cherries, filling the lounge with balloons, going to see live bands and staying at the playground until you actually want to go home).
xkcd sums it up really well and I'm going to work on the celebrating aspect from now on.
