I simply don't have the time to keep tagging the
spnnewsletter on delicious. Anyone who wants to take over or do what they want with it, is welcome to it.

Would there be a way to get a group of volunteers together to lighten the load, so to speak? If one only had to do "tag duty" every few days or so, it wouldn't be so time-consuming, would it? Especially now that you've set up this nifty tag system already.
For the record: I found many a good fic through the delicious tags, so no matter what happens, thank you!

Thank you, I am so glad it has been useful :)

And do you have some kind of "workflow", a method that worked best for you when tagging the fics? How much backlog is there? Just so that I know what I'm getting myself into... ;-)

Umh. I have a quite detailed word document around somewhere that explains how I do things - I could do an LJ post with pictures and explanations if you want :)
It's now 53 newsletters behind ( I always mention the newsletter edition in the title of the last story posted for that edition) and it takes me about 2 episodes of a random TV show to tag seven. I did a few every day and about 40 on weekends when I was catching up originally - of course by that time I knew exactly what my system was and had a handy delicious plugin that meant I just opened the newsletter, right clicked on the first link, whacked in the tags, saved and worked my way down the page. Rinse, repeat.
If you use Delicious Bookmarks 2.0.104 with Firefox 3 it tries to import all your bookmarks into Firefox and it's not pretty on a site with 20k+ links. A more technical person than me might have a way around that. *g* I just kept Firefox 2 installed on a spare drive and use the old del.icio.us 1.2.1 plugin which is perfect for high speed tagging.
I could handle doing a few every now and then if I wasn't doing the bulk of it... and I can certainly do moral support, advice and encouragement!

I did take a quick look at how the plugin behaved, just to figure out how it'd work, and thanks for the warning! Because, yes, it did indeed try to import those 23,000 something links into my local bookmarks. Luckily, I was forewarned, and quickly closing the browser stopped the process with no damage done :-) Whew!
It looks as though setting the plugin to Classic mode offers a workaround. At least, then it doesn't seem to want to merge local bookmarks and delicious any longer (whoever thought that was a good idea as a default setting, anyway?!?). If I'm right about that, it shouldn't be too hard to do the tagging job with FF3 either.
One of the things I do run into, and I assume this is covered in your Word doc, are the simple, practical things: do you tag chapters that get posted, or just the first? What tags are 'mandatory' for what kind of story? Say it's a slash story, what do you add: rating, pairing, author, anything else? Etc.

*g* Oh boy do I have a system. *sends you a word document* see how you feel about my notes!
