I feel like I should record the weekend because it was great.

• Visited brothers, did birthday presents, stayed for six hours, watched football, had a BBQ, had a small AC/DC festival. Oh Bon, your pants were special.
• Bought mango and coconut scented soap, hacky sacs and exotic fruits.
• Wrote 'Tag Wrangler' wireframes for the Archive.
• Took mother to Pride Fair, bought a helium dolphin balloon, a tiny plush cow and ate chocolate pancakes with cherries. Was given random stuff, now have enough equipment to have safe sex with anything.
• Cuddled the woofer a lot.
• Sat in the sun.
• Read stuff.

Sounds great. My mom is pretty good, but there's no way she's go to a gay pride festival.

It was great!

My mother surprised me by being a little uncertain - we talked though and her experience of the gay scene when she was in university was of angry drag queens and she didn't know what to expect this weekend. It just highlights to me how important it is to be visible and gay, people have the strangest expectations!

The only thing I felt missing from the scene in any way was other relationship alternatives, though it isn't precisely queer so I'm not surprised as such but, wanted it all the same.
