I love the mini monadnock's you get when pebbles protect red clay from the rain..

(I know - probably geologically inaccurate, but it's a better word for them than any I've come across before..)

As her circle of friends diminishes and becomes increasingly enfeebled, my mother continues strong and joyful--a monadnock amidst the ravages of age.

Is there a word for somebody who loves words? A (Latin word for "word")ophile or some such?
