   4,817. Charming banterfic. Sam and Dean versus an unknown grave-robber.
   Sometimes on nights like this Sam’s irritation gets the better of him. He finds himself skipping off into the familiar playground of What Would Wake Dean And What Would Not.
   He likes this game, and yes, he does occasionally test out his experiments. His favorite area of deliberation involves how Dean will react to different answers to the question “What’re you doing?”, which Dean mumbles with regularity every time Sam moves or makes a noise in his sleep.

oh thanks for these recs. I love going back and discovering new fic, and rediscovering old favs. It's also interesting to see how the focus of fic, and the characterizations have, and haven't changed.

Here's why: 1) I almost invariably like everything you rec on the spnnewsletter (see, this comment is not entirely irrelevant!), 2) glancing at your profile and a few recent entries in your journal, I love your brand of humor, and 3) you listed Modesty Blaise in your interests--I thought maybe my brother and I were the only people in the world who ever heard of (or remembered) Modesty Blaise (okay, here's a thought--Sam Winchester... I, Lucifer!). We don't have everything in common. Clearly I heart parentheses over the apostrophe! I write a little, don't post a lot otherwise, but comment a lot (and usually at length). I tend to get to know people a bit before I friend them if I don't already know them in real life but please don't let that make you feel unwelcome.

Modesty Blaise - man, Sam would have fitted into I, Lucifer scarily well. It turns out my housemate maharetr has almost all the books! They are now unpacked and I am going to read them all now I have some spare time.
