Discussed or encountered discussions on British versus US apocalypse writing and movie making, movies I missed in 2007, the birth of Doctor Who (fabulous), the romance genre, being a Doctor Who fan and writing for Doctor who, Cyberpunk, the MPAA rating system, anime, movies for 2008, sexual harassment and best coping methods, the ‘other’ in science fiction, the birth of WA fandom, the net culture, Quidditch, watched some Jedi Boot camp, listened to Rob Sheaman’s commentary on Dalek, launched Swancon2009, talked about TV and the porn industry, clapped a lot at the awards ceremony, giggled through the Magical Hat of Mystery, babbled happily about Sheri S. Tepper, talked about The Organization for Transformative Works and attended the closing ceremony.

Hmmm... some other things to officially program (unlike most of our activities...) for 2009.

We will do a Fan GoH speech. Sort of. (Grins evilly.)

We do want to do a panel about the darker side of cycling with arcadiagt5.

We could have our arms viciously twisted into doing an introduction to Korval. (No, don't, please, don't stop...) (Ariaflame, do you want to help with this?)

Leece would really like to do her co-operative/competitive creature building art workshop with some other artists (Mel? Shawn? Anyone?). "Building a better Unicorn".

We will, with Tikiwanderer's help do the Molecular Gastronomy workshop.

We will, extensively, play games with all and sundry.

We may be very, very silly.

I want to:

1) Run a Singstar karaoke competition - with a good big screen and sound system;
2) Run a proper geek song/ tv & movie theme singalong;
3) Run a panel about furry movies (without any freaky stories about American Furs);
4) Run a panel where we get to lust over male characters; and
5) Have a 'write a story in 30mins' competition.
