Free concert organised by the City of Perth as part of the Arts Festival 2008. [livejournal.com profile] madradish very kindly turned up early and saved a very good spot on the grass in front of the stage and I meandered in to cuddle people ([livejournal.com profile] fred_mouse's progeny seem to regard me as a sort of superior, mobile climbing gym), lie about, appreciate the perfect weather and generally do what you *should* be able to do on weekends. Relax.

Tenor, tenor, tenor, soprano, tenor, tenor, soprano.

I don’t think I’m developing into an opera lover, I’m more attracted to musicals and Gilbert & Sullivan style extravaganzas and I’m not all that keen on listening to soprano voices. Still, lovely evening.

It was lovely to have you in attendance. :)

You forgot the nice bass.. mmmm... bass.

Yep, opera isn't everyone's cup of tea, but well done for giving it a go.

Win for relaxing! New Zealand is *amazing* and has expensive internet. In the 30 secs remaining, I send love to you, and tennis balls for K. <3

The kids really do like climbing on you, don't they? I was very amused. and, I have to say, that soprano wasn't the best, and her voice was getting blown about a bit in that wind. If you were interested in developing more interest in opera, it would be worth listening to some better singers. Cecilia Bartoli is a mezzo-soprano and I think she is astounding. Kiri te Kanawa is also fabulous and is bound to have a recording of Madama Butterfly if you want to compare.

I'm taking it as a compliment, one day they'll be too big and I'll miss it.

I'm not writing opera off - there will be more listening.
