I just noticed my USB drive's on exactly 666 MB. I am also admiring it's ability to survive being lost at the beach, get wet, salty, have sand bashed out of it and continue working.

Also, most of my tech is male including all of my cars.

Havelock on 666 MB

My cars so far have been named Fozzy Watermelon, George, Cecil and Lambert. Fozzy was cannibalised, George died of kangaroo, Cecil was donated to people who needed him, Lambert holds the record for most sporting gear, dogs and camping gear transported comfortably and never gets washed.

My last car to have a name was Sam. I can't remember its gender now.

My laptop is Manny (after the character in Black Books), and it's hard drive is named Corwin (a mis-spelling of Colwyn, the hero in Krull). Both male.

Our desktop is Noo Noo (after the vacuum cleaner in the Telly Tubbies, due to the sound it makes when it briefly spins all the fans on power up before it realises it doesn't need them yet). Possibly a boy.

My previous desktop was Ariadne - its hard drive was Messalina. Both female.

I haven't named any of the hard drives after people; only after functions. It made sense to me to name the flash drive though!

Our first car in England was a VW Golf, called "Leonardo (de Volksi)".

My day-job computer was called "Tinky-winky", after the telly-tubby. Possibly male.

My previous home computer (a white plastic iBook) was called Miffy. Gender indeterminate.

This computer, similar but with an aluminium case, is called Metal Miffy. (It can make light-sabre noises.)

Miffy is a cartoon rabbit isn't she?

Yup. I am unclear on the character's gender though.

(my sister gave me a "miffy" bag and book for christmas!)

I remember when that kangaroo killed George the car - it was a large kangaroo and we were travelling at 110 at the time, I think.

My cars have been...Frog (the Kombi), Cecelia (the Celica), Harvey (the Laser), Fred (the Colt - killed by 4wd, my fault), Annie (the converted ambulance - also known by me as Globie, as in -warming), um...and now Little Nanna (the 5 times across the country Excel).

I've never named my tech - though I do affectionately call my shiny new mac Presh, and my palmie Palmie. My USB keys tend to be called something mysterious like 'Unnamed volume' and the like.

Your presence was a great comfort to me as well.
