Great night for a picnic so we ate cherries, sang and melted candles to some cheesy but very entertaining music. The high point would have to be Ambassador Bells from Bells West, a group that played quite complex music entirely using... bells. It was beautiful.

The fireworks were also spectacular - I love being that close! KABOOM!

I went to carols by candlelight yesterday also. There were a few too many 13 year old soloists who had been unduly influenced by Mariah Carey but otherwise it was fun. Sadly we had no cherries but my mum brought glowsticks for us. :)

The firework display afterwards was wonderful. I love fireworks. I think one of the things I'll miss most about Sydney is the NYE fireworks display. It's a highlight of my year. Maybe I'll just have to come back for that each year!

Lovely photo, it looks like an ideal exposure time.

We had a nice mix of singers but no glowsticks.

Thank you ;-) I got lucky on the exposure - there was enough reflected light on the smoke in the sky to give me a little more time.
