Two days of sawing, hacksawing, drilling and excessive screwdriver use plus some unpacking of boxes has left me incredibly glad I'm ambidextrous enough to use both hands for most tasks. I now have floor to ceiling shelves coating the largest wall in the spare room and shan't be getting down books by authors in "A" or "B" without a ladder.
prk you are absolutely right, I broke three drills bits, two through sloppy technique and one from tripping over the power cord and hurling the drill to it's doom (not on my head though, I get points for this right?).
I've unpacked 3/4 of the boxes and all the speculative fiction is now up excluding random books that snuck into other boxes when I wasn't looking. The remaining 11 boxes are waiting for a burst of energy to unpack texts, non-fiction and fiction. I also found my 'to read' pile which makes me very happy
mr_booboo this means I have found your Dresden Files books if you wants them - I haven't had a chance to read yet so I hope you're not in a hurry.
ascetic_hedony do you have my copy of Hunters Oath by Michelle West? I'm just curious, everyone should have a chance to love that book.
japester do you have all the Merry Gentry books or was that someone else?

Neal Asher - no, should I start with Gridlinked?

The actual sequel is the brass man which I've just started.
I really liked The Skinner. I love the ideas behind it, though it go a bit gory in places. And Gridlinked was good. Lots of little clever lines and sarcastic AI's.

Hah, it's not just me who does that!
*feels reassured*
Congrats on an awesome job without injuring anyone - the drill bits had it coming.

Would love to see you for an evening!
Looks awesome!
Also looks like a lot of work - congrats on the excellent set up :)
I'm hoping to check LJ a little more often and be generally less absent online once the masters is done. Into the final project countdown and hoping to graduate in December [fingers crossed]. Will be re-investigating this idea of having a life outside work shortly afterwards I hope!
