Woken Furies by Richard Morgan. The third book in the Takeshi Kovacs series and just as much fun as the first two. Martian orbital platforms, nanotechnology, body hopping, civil war, terrorism and a dreadful quest for revenge. [loves]
Hover Car Racer by Matthew Reilly. I imagine this will be riveting to 10 year old boys, alas, readable but not hitting my particular triggers. A 14 year old and his eccentric little brother take on the big guys in a series of races.
Deepwater Dreams by Sydney Van Scyoc. A coming of age novel set on a distant world where youngsters undergo a rite of passage out on the sea. Nuela is about to find out her world is far larger than she could have imagined. I enjoyed the story a lot and have fond memories of other books by this lady. Older style scifi that is starting to date but retains charm.
The Keys to the Kingdom (04) Sir Thursday by Garth Nix. Still having a ball here. Arthur, reluctant Heir to the Kingdom is battling his way towards a deeper understanding of the Architect’s fate/plan. At least I hope he is. [meanders off to find book 5]
