Many fine things, fabulous cast, high level of humour, liked the effects but it was far, far too long. Came out headachy and giggling to run up the down escalators and wave imploringly to those we left behind.

Fight scenes went on forever and the Jack/Salt-plains scene was completely self indulgent. Ditto the multiple Jack's - they didn't have enough Depp scenes?

So many things I loved, the little running jokes that are so cheap but so enjoyable - the rum, the monkey, the sea turtles etc. Really liked Wil being allowed to grow up a bit - confident, competent Wil who schemes with the best of them and will cheerfully sell Jack out to save his own father was a pleasure the watch.

Thought Naomi Harris was particularly good as Tia Dalma as was Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa.

Not at all impressed by the post-credits scene - let me get this straight... Elizabeth ends up the pirate queen but stays on land to raise the sproglet and wait for Wil? WTF? All that beautiful, strong, independent characterisation was heavily undermined. At least she wasn't washing his gear in a thong.

I have decided that the last scene was deceptive. Elizabeth has actually been studying the dark arts and has learnt how to swap Will and Jack's roles. Calypso may be involved, and Elizabeth may have done some pillaging in her name.

I suspect Elizabeth didn't feel safe taking the kid on a Pirate ship, at least until he's old enough to be cabin boy, and didn't want to leave him. Regardless, I'm sure she's scandalised whatever town she lives in.

My heart is pounding so fast right now, this music never gets old, thank you so much!

I am on about the 20th run through, and every time it starts at around second .05 I still grin like a loon.

I can forgive the fight scenes and the 'too many JD's' (what was WITH that?) ... but I am with you on the 'little woman waiting at home' scenario... *frowns*

I still think my favourite aspect is the perfection that is the music matching the action perfectly. HAVE to find the rest of the soundtrack. :)
