Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake

Thank you to mynxii for organising us, I'm so glad we went.

The ballet was funny, interesting and beautiful. I loved the choreography, the simplicity of the sets and the gorgeous costumes. The way that bird like movements were incorporated was great to see and the all male swan troupe were both scary and lyrically beautiful in turn. People being astoundingly fit and flexible are always inspiring!

The forbidden love of man and swan; if it had been penguins it would have been fanfic.

And the lead swan - he *was* sex...!

As first experiences of live ballet go, it rocked. I loved the fact that the cast were acting as well as dancing, and that we could see their faces :) And the opening and closing tableaux were just beautiful.

Really must see more live theatre, somehow...
