The Corinthian by Georgette Heyer was charming and funny although my feelings about 30 year old men pursuing 17 year old girls... I'm torn: part of me is yicked and the rest of me wishes I was being chased by someone who knew something when *I* was 17.

Angels and Demons by Dan Brown is airport_jet_lag reading trash. Sensational and pulpy with heavy exposition. I was told to read this before The Da Vinci code as it's supposed to be better, shall skip his other books. Am particularly enthused by the idea of containing antimatter with magnetic fields generated by an ionic polymer gel with teflon. A gel capable of producing the amperage of a jellyfish will happily contain antimatter so long as it has teflon!

The Final Planet by Andrew Greeley is a science fiction religious romance action novel. Poor Seamus O'Neill; beautiful women, strange rituals, saber tooth tigers, civil war and a terrible conscience. Also appears to be in a world where diffusion works differently - I wish pills worked that fast here. Err 6/10.

i didn't mind the other books... still sensationalist etc... but with less dramatic material. Not to mention trash reading definitely has its place. Though presently my trash reading of choice is Sherrilyn Kenyon.

i have them lying around at [livejournal.com profile] callistra's house if you wish at any point.

So envious of how much reading you've gotten done... i need more hours for reading :)

Currently reading 2nd Traci Harding Ancient Future Trilogy, have Kim Harrison from AH to read and have also just started the new George R Martin door stop.

Thanks for the offer but based a potential 10,296 more books in my life I think I'll save him for when I'm really desperate.

Have The Red Pony by Steinbeck and The Kitchen God's Wife by Amy Tan on the go right now.

I never read Harding's 2nd trilogy but would happily recommend the first for long bus trips. Was schlock and oh so attractive.

But your description of Angels and Demons really brightened my day yesterday.

I stayed home sick from work today - so guess how many hours I was actually there for...?

That's right 3.5 hours. 'Cos maybe they really do give points for martyrdom.

So you're home sick right now?

I'm home sick right now.

Could you let gym-paul know that I didn't come in today and won't come in this afteernoon - for I shall be resting. In all the crisis management this morning I totally forgot to call him - and I don't have his number at home.

You and Juffie are welcome to come by and toast the new place after gym, as I shall have the keys this afternoon at 5pm!

I want to come and spend time at your place this evening, but think I really ought to be in bed.

[comfort]

I'll let Gym_Paul know.

Whee! I shall head over after gym - and nudge Juffie.

Angels and Demons by Dan Brown is airport_jet_lag reading trash

and The Da Vinci Code can join it. It was only useful to me in the interesting toys it made note of that Leonarda made.

I certainly wish I'd had anyone interested in me when I was 17.
