Did my first ever distance paddle this morning, was a bit nervous what with all the raving about how hard it is to paddle in a straight line. Did two involuntary 360s but had it under control by the time I went under the causeway and it was straight lines from then on. Fun!

Took me about an hour. Also learning very quickly how I want to put tall, unwieldy things on Lambert.

Found out why all the ducks liked one patch of water - it's nice and shallow for duck fun and games and bloody terrible for gliding speedily over. Shall avoid that bit in the future.

As someone who has only done a tiny bit of paddling, which was hard enough, (in high school -- the joy of having a school that was right on the river) I can only boggle and raise my glass. *impressed*

[beams] The 'swooshing' through the water bit is very nice.
