Swan's Wing is the second time I've read a story about the one swan-prince who wasn't fully turned back into a human by the shirts of nettle his sister mutely wove. The story is from the perspective of a traveling craftsman who has abandoned his work in a bitter search for perfection. He appreciates the prince's unique beauty and so does the Lady of a strange town. Middling fantasy, I'm more intrigued by the link to another tale than any inherent quality.

Wolf's Bane had no redeeming features. The title has nothing to do with the plot and the blurb on the back describes pages 300 - 344 and the fact I got that far is a testament to my lack of taste. It could have been OK. There was a human settlement on a strange planet; a telepathic bond with a wolf; an alien race; a broken pact. Add a dash of character development, some integration, a little exposition, less whining and a point and.. Ah well, the $2 box can raise you to the heights of happiness and hurl you to the pit of despair.
