Jeff Baker is a famous philanthropist and the inventor of technology that replaced the internet with a 'datasphere'. He is the focus of Europe's groundbreaking new project: an attempt to rejuvenate a human being. After 15 months in a medical facility Jeff is released looking like a healthy 20 year old; he is 78.

Not to be compared with the Night's Dawn trilogy, which was breathtaking, but entirely readable.

Quite a good read I thought. Interesting look sideways at aspects of a future society.

Have you read Fallen Dragon and the Greg Mandel books? And the Pandora's Star that I sent you?

Fallen Dragon yes and loved it. The Greg Mandel books were what got me reading him in the first place. Read Mindstar Rising and never looked back. I'm still eyeing Pandora's Star cautiously as I hate starting series that aren't published yet. Love the little comments; although with handwriting like that you may want to consider a career in medicine.

Writing like mine - I took up IT, not too dissimilar. My handwriting has atrophied and I make no apologies for it. It also degrades if I get excited because my hand can't keep up with my head.

When taking my finals at university the b--- sat us down in a room at a rickety desk with paper and pens and said WRITE! After training us for years how to type. After 15 minutes my hand ached. I looked around and saw that I was by no means alone in massaging my hand/wrist/elbow. And of all the questions they ask they want you to write a program - on a piece of paper, even trivial programs - do you know how hard that is? Paper featuring a decided lack of cut and paste or just backspace for a start.
