I think I've paddled myself out over the last few days.

Rolling practice on Friday night; was teaching not practicing which was interesting and challenging. It did lead to my eventual dOOm though.

Skills on the bay on Saturday, have learned a lot about fine-ing up various paddle strokes and also how to ride other paddler's bow wave. So cool! If you can talk two other paddlers into maintaining a set distance apart and sit yourself in the right place between them you can ride both bow waves at once. My plan to train tortoises to pull me now involves less turtle_treats and more bribery and corruption.

Paddling on Sunday on some of the only moving water in WA at Dwellingup. Was very good fun, practiced getting in and out of eddies, sitting in 'sticky' spots and when to lean in what direction.

Came unstuck here, first try did the second half backwards; second try bounced happily through, shot out the bottom but was half over the eddy line and was neatly flipped over. I utterly failed to roll and took a swim. I think I've strained a not_drowning muscle and my knee is very unimpressed. I carried the boat back up and tried again and third time was slightly less eventful.

Whee! Sploosh!
