Did not get house we put an offer on, am OK with this as we were not willing to pay more, plus Incipient Commune showed excellent communication skills.
This is nearly word-for-word my own feelings about the first house we put an offer in on :) (we are now nearly at the exchanging contracts stage, thumbs crossed, on a MUCH NICER house; so I am even more pleased that we didn't get the first one!)
