ETA: The context being a discussion about warnings on fanfiction so that people know what they're getting into - specifically people who may trigger off references to sexual assault etc.

Thank you to the courageous and compassionate people who have been generous enough to share their experiences and thoughts on this matter.

I'm firmly in the camp of believing you have to give enough information to allow other people to make informed decisions.

This should be a no-brainer but we see it in all sorts of aspects of human behaviour, if you don't get enough information at work to do your job you fail at it, if you don't get enough information in a relationship the relationship eventually fails, if you don't get enough information about oh, your rights or good nutrition or birth control then you get to have a life where taking care of yourself can be REALLY HARD.

Vote 1. Owls.
