Teh internet says Bettas blow bubble-nests when they are happy and thinking about meeting girls. There will be no girl fish but I'm glad his confrontational little ways don't mean he's stressed or unhappy. I wonder if this means I can continue to amuse myself by taunting him with a pen.

Ponyboy is in an airconditioned office - internet says they don't like to go much below 23C which is OK here - plus he gets warmer weather on weekends.

I also got him a larger tank so as to provide a bigger buffer against sudden temperature changes.
