First. I love the time loop trope and the second I realised it was happening I was filled with bubbling glee.

Dean, you are the most awesome, annoying older brother ever and the synchronised talking in the diner was great. I loved, loved, LOVED it when you were squashed to death, I’d been expecting an anvil but this was much more integrated.  I appreciate how funny and how telegraphed most of your deaths were - it added a layer of humour that this episode needed. When you were shot in the parking lot by a normal guy, it was heartbreaking, what a terrible way for someone like you to end. Please do not be dying for real, it will devastate me. I liked the way you were useful and integral to this story’s resolution despite being relegated to a bit player. It is possible that my faith was sustained by a burning belief that Dean Will Not Die For Real. At least until the show ends where it’s 30/70 Sunsets versus Blaze of Glory.

PS I so, so want to know what those four years without Sam were like.

Sam, I’d already got the memo about your potential darksideness without the stabilising influence of your big bro but this was dark enough that it got to me anyway. Meep. Great job. My, you certainly inherited your father’s capacity for one-track devotion. That hug at the end was very touching and I loved your subtly different waking up expression in the mornings.

PS I don’t believe for a second that your capacity for love is your weakness, nor do I believe that letting Dean go is a good idea. The family that slays together; stays together.

John, I am so glad you had little boys to raise and love. It occurs to me that their humanising influence may very well be the only thing that kept you from performing a little ritualistic human sacrifice yourself in a lonely, isolated, half crazy, obsessed kind of way.

Tricker, I’m a little confused by your motivation here. I get that any opportunity to mess with someone is an opportunity not to be missed. I get that Winchesters should be messed with and I get that Sammy has obsessive tendencies and it would be a shame not to make him suffer. BUT WHY DO YOU GIVE A CRAP about helping Sammy move on? Do you have an agenda? Are you now an ongoing kind of character rather than a MotW? Do you know any Demons?

Also: do Trickers trump Demons?

Bobby, *sniffle*. I love you, your telephone calls, your attitude, your caring, hey it’s blanket approval.
