My monitor has just died. Do I replace with a crappy backup or upgrade to a 22" flat screen?

With the amount you use your screen in terms of reading from it, my preference for your eye's sake would be for you to go with something new and specy that has lots of pixels ... or whatever it is that makes things clearer :)

*hugs* for dead monitor - did it smoke and carry on, or just die a gentle not-turning-back-on-death?
