Stanza is worth more to me than OS5

After some thought and after re-evaluating a large number of e-reader software applications and since the iPad2 was rather crashy the Apple store has very kindly replaced it for me. I now have one that's running 4.3.5 and Stanza and a deep aversion to upgrading it. Yay!

Dear Diary

• Family: father less ill, this has been a great opportunity to spend time with him and for that I am glad. I would prefer he wasn't suffering, I would prefer this a lot. I have been quietly working through my (excellent) personal leave and occasionally using the 'work from home' option for which I am deeply grateful
• Health: childhood hip injury has kicked back in with a vengeance - my fault, it hurts to walk, sit and sneeze. I'm now doing my exercises every night and hoping this isn't the start of another six months of intensive physiotherapy.
• MBA: group assignment almost ready to hand in (group is good group), shitty first draft of individual assignment created, ignoring need to study for exam at present - I recognise this is not an ideal success tactic :p
• House [1]:
  • have replaced kitchen tap through a process of digging out all the good tools and wedging myself into the cupboard on my back on the kitchen floor - just as well I'm already dignity-impaired - thank you again to maharetr for steadying things and providing excellent morale support
  • have admired quotes, selected a builder to rip out my bathroom and build a new one, selected bath / vanity / mirror / taps / tiles / grouting (seriously, grouting?) etc and arranged delivery. Practice of keeping in constant contact with builder and supplier is paying off in catching botched communication v. early
• House [2]: paperwork for finance application is with mortgage broker, final list of renovations that must be done is finalised with Collective, list of potential builders has been acquired, next stage is getting quotes for proposed work
• Misc:
  • 20 year high school reunion - good grief, how did that happen?
  • did you know it's possible to get a paper cut in the webbing between your first two fingers?
