Real Steel - not my thing

Umh.

I got about 15-ish mins in I think - to the bit where Charlie leaves the courthouse after shaking hands with Marvin and heads to the boxing ring. then I left and got an excellent mango pudding and read until my friends came out and we went home. Thus bringing me to four movies I've now walked out on because I couldn't see the point in staying. Those other movies being Blue Velvet, that one where they dismember the prostitute in the bath and the one where the tiger gives away the sniper position - Face/Off? I felt a powerful urge to leave Avatar but stayed in a sort of paralysed horror hoping it would get better - I shan't make that mistake again.

You know that thing in hurt/comfort where you're allowed to write hurt so long as you balance it with comfort? Or when you write horror but you have to balance it with redemption? I just couldn't see it happening, Charlie was so unlikable and his world was so unpleasant that I didn't care if he was going to be redeemed. Oh well, I'm just sad I gave them money.
