  • Colocation: FastServ have confirmed they have received a package from HP. Personally, until someone at FastServ opens the box and confirms it is full of working servers I am going to assume they have delivered a crate of blueberry muffins - [personal profile] rustler says if this is true she is going to take the muffins and run. We are now, however talking timing for set up, rack and install which is very exciting (Tue/Wed this week). We had hoped to be testing by now, so depending on our initial testing result this may push us back a couple more weeks *hopes not*
  • Deploy Schedule: Still late September/early October, muffins willing.
    • Bookmarks: So cool! We’re about to deploy some front end changes to Test that will make them prettier too - [personal profile] cal and [personal profile] flamebyrd have been amazing.
    • Subscriptions: There’s no way we’re going to have time to code this before we go to Open Beta but we’re lovingly petting the design in the knowledge that when we have the resources it’s ready to work on.
    • Hoovering: Lurking in the Coder chatroom tells me this highly desirable feature is starting to coalesce. Hoovering will be the ability to import stories in bulk, either for a single author or for an Archivist. We are conscious there are custodians of dying archives waiting patiently for us to build this and I’m delighted to say [personal profile] astolat is hard at work on it (possibly while sleeping as well).
    • Collections & Challenges: design work progressing in [personal profile] bingeling’s capable hands – Collections and Hoovering are closely related (can’t import an archive unless you have a ‘Collection shell’ for it to live in) so they are coming together.
    • Internet Explorer 7: We’ll be raising bugs for all the major IE7 problems that non-logged in users experience this week so we can start fixing them.
  • Rails 3: We received a very friendly email triggered by Kirrily Robert’s keynote speech “Standing Out in the Crowd” at OSCON 2009 from Yehuda in the Rails core team. He offered himself as a contact for when we jump to Rails 3 to ensure they get feedback and we get a smooth transition – thank you to both Yehuda and Kirrily. We won’t be jumping until after Open Beta, but it’s great to know we have a community we can tap into when we do.
  • Thank you: We also finally got around to committing a couple of patches given to us by ‘kastner’ who dropped in briefly on 30 June to improve us – thank you :)
  • Open Beta: still on for mid October, muffins willing
